Job summary

Ramboll seeks a Senior Engineer to join the Water networks team in India. You will design wet utility networks including potable water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, and validate drawings produced by CAD technicians while ensuring quality.

The role includes stormwater management with SUDS, modeling, and technical documentation; collaboration with global and local teams for national and international projects.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of stormwater management design experience for UK projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK standards.
• Experience in urban and land development projects.
• Proficiency with InfoDrainage/MicroDrainage (mandatory).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and 2D AutoCAD (preferred).
• Good communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare schematic drainage layout for proposed site.
• Develop base models in InfDrainage/MicroDrainage and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Model optimization and validation.
• Runoff assessment and storm drainage planning; integrate SUDS features.
• Plan future network according to construction phasing and optioning.
• Prepare technical reports, 3D model coordination, 2D drawings, and standard details.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and engineers to deliver tasks.

Job Description

As our new Senior Engineer, in the Water networks team you will be part of Water department. As a member of the Water team, you will be responsible for carrying out the design for wet utility networks such as storm water, wastewater, potable water, irrigation water, and firefighting water.

The role involves preparing engineering designs, calculations, drawings, models, and technical documentation for systems such as potable water, wastewater, stormwater drainage, irrigation, and firefighting water networks. Also, responsible for carrying out the checks of the drawings produced by CAD technicians in the team and maintaining quality of deliverables. You will be also doing stormwater management using SUDS, providing green and nature-based solutions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Prepare schematic layout for drainage in proposed site
• Development of base models in infodrainage/microdrainage, collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
• Model optimization and validation.
• Runoff assessment, Storm drainage planning, proposal of SUDS feature integration in drainage network system and design of proposed infrastructure.
• Planning of future network as per construction phasing and optioneering in integration with existing infrastructure.
• You will be responsible for preparation of technical reports, 3D model coordination, 2D layout drawings and standard details.
• Engineer shall co-ordinate with Project Manager and Assistant Engineer/Principal Engineer/Technical Manager and be primarily involved in delivering the scheduled tasks in the form of design calculations and drawings.
• You shall co-ordinate & collaborate with his/her counterparts across the globe & in India while working on national/international projects.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with 5 to 8 years of experience in stormwater management design for UK projects. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

• Strong knowledge of UK standards
• Experience in urban and Land Development projects
• Hands-on expertise with software such as InfoDrainage/ MicroDrainage (mandatory)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD 2D (preferred)
• Experience working on projects up to detailed design stage, with exposure to subsequent stages (preferred)
• In addition to the technical / functional acumen, he should have good communication skills.
• Should be a team player and should coordinate within the team for timely delivery of project.
• Desirable Professional English language skills (written and verbal).
