Job summary

Ramboll India is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Water networks team to design wet utility networks including potable water, wastewater, stormwater, irrigation, and firefighting water. You will prepare designs, calculations, drawings, and technical documents.

Responsibilities include checking CAD outputs, maintaining quality, and applying SUDS with green solutions; collaboration with global and Indian teams on national and international projects, delivering on schedule.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in stormwater management design for UK projects.
• Proficient in UK standards for urban drainage and development.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare schematic drainage layouts for proposed sites.
• Develop base models in InfoDrainage and MicroDrainage, coordinating with stakeholders.
• Optimize and validate drainage models.
• Perform runoff assessments and storm drainage planning with SUDS integration.
• Plan future networks according to construction phasing.
• Prepare technical reports, 3D model coordination, and drawings.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and engineers to deliver tasks.

Job Description

As our new Senior Engineer, in the Water networks team you will be part of Water department. As a member of the Water team, you will be responsible for carrying out the design for wet utility networks such as storm water, wastewater, potable water, irrigation water, and firefighting water.

The role involves preparing engineering designs, calculations, drawings, models, and technical documentation for systems such as potable water, wastewater, stormwater drainage, irrigation, and firefighting water networks. Also, responsible for carrying out the checks of the drawings produced by CAD technicians in the team and maintaining quality of deliverables. You will be also doing stormwater management using SUDS, providing green and nature-based solutions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Prepare schematic layout for drainage in proposed site
• Development of base models in infodrainage/microdrainage, collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
• Model optimization and validation.
• Runoff assessment, Storm drainage planning, proposal of SUDS feature integration in drainage network system and design of proposed infrastructure.
• Planning of future network as per construction phasing and optioneering in integration with existing infrastructure.
• You will be responsible for preparation of technical reports, 3D model coordination, 2D layout drawings and standard details.
• Engineer shall co-ordinate with Project Manager and Assistant Engineer/Principal Engineer/Technical Manager and be primarily involved in delivering the scheduled tasks in the form of design calculations and drawings.
• You shall co-ordinate & collaborate with his/her counterparts across the globe & in India while working on national/international projects.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with 5 to 8 years of experience in stormwater management design for UK projects. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

• Strong knowledge of UK standards
• Experience in urban and Land Development projects
• Hands-on expertise with software such as InfoDrainage/ MicroDrainage (mandatory)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD 2D (preferred)
• Experience working on projects up to detailed design stage, with exposure to subsequent stages (preferred)
• In addition to the technical / functional acumen, he should have good communication skills.
• Should be a team player and should coordinate within the team for timely delivery of project.
• Desirable Professional English language skills (written and verbal).
