Job summary

Ramboll India is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Water networks team to lead stormwater design for UK projects. You will prepare drainage layouts and base models, ensure quality checks, and coordinate across teams to deliver complete design packages, including reports and 2D/3D drawings.

The role requires 5–8 years of experience in stormwater design, proficiency with InfoDrainage/MicroDrainage, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Runoff assessment and storm drainage planning with SUDS integration.
• Plan future network expansion with construction phasing and option analysis.
• Prepare technical reports, 3D model coordination, 2D drawings, and standard details.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and engineers to deliver design calculations and drawings.
• Collaborate with counterparts across the globe and in India for national/international projects.

As our new Senior Engineer, in the Water networks team you will be part of Water department. As a member of the Water team, you will be responsible for carrying out the design for wet utility networks such as storm water, wastewater, potable water, irrigation water, and firefighting water.

The role involves preparing engineering designs, calculations, drawings, models, and technical documentation for systems such as potable water, wastewater, stormwater drainage, irrigation, and firefighting water networks. Also, responsible for carrying out the checks of the drawings produced by CAD technicians in the team and maintaining quality of deliverables. You will be also doing stormwater management using SUDS, providing green and nature-based solutions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Prepare schematic layout for drainage in proposed site
• Development of base models in infodrainage/microdrainage, collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
• Model optimization and validation.
• Runoff assessment, Storm drainage planning, proposal of SUDS feature integration in drainage network system and design of proposed infrastructure.
• Planning of future network as per construction phasing and optioneering in integration with existing infrastructure.
• You will be responsible for preparation of technical reports, 3D model coordination, 2D layout drawings and standard details.
• Engineer shall co-ordinate with Project Manager and Assistant Engineer/Principal Engineer/Technical Manager and be primarily involved in delivering the scheduled tasks in the form of design calculations and drawings.
• You shall co-ordinate & collaborate with his/her counterparts across the globe & in India while working on national/international projects.

We are looking for a candidate with 5 to 8 years of experience in stormwater management design for UK projects. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

• Strong knowledge of UK standards
• Experience in urban and Land Development projects
• Hands-on expertise with software such as InfoDrainage/ MicroDrainage (mandatory)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD 2D (preferred)
• Experience working on projects up to detailed design stage, with exposure to subsequent stages (preferred)
• In addition to the technical / functional acumen, he should have good communication skills.
• Should be a team player and should coordinate within the team for timely delivery of project.
• Desirable Professional English language skills (written and verbal).
