Senior Engineer - Procurement

Job summary

RPG Group seeks an experienced Civil Engineer with 8-10 years in material management to lead procurement for construction projects. You will handle sourcing, evaluation, negotiation and finalization of vendors for PEB structures, structural fabrication, tiles, marbles and finishing materials, fire doors, insulation, and MEP items.

Prepare RFQs, analyze bids, coordinate with design and site teams, and ensure compliance with drawings, specs and budgets.

Qualifications

• BE or Diploma in Civil Engineering with 8-10 years of experience in material management, preferably.
• Experience in procurement for construction projects and managing high-value items.
• Strong negotiation, vendor evaluation, and vendor finalization skills.
• Experience with RFQs, techno-commercial bids, and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of high-value items, consumables, bought-out and finishing items for construction projects.
• Source, evaluate, negotiate, and finalize vendors for PEB structures, structural fabrication, tiles, marbles, finishing materials, fire doors/shutters, insulation and MEP materials.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, analyze techno-commercial bids, and prepare comparative statements.
• Coordinate with design, planning and site teams to meet technical specs and delivery requirements.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and project budgets.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, warranties and contracts with suppliers.
• Finalize purchase orders and supplier agreements per procurement policies.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery issues.
• Maintain vendor lists and develop new reliable suppliers.
• Ensure timely procurement to meet project schedules and minimize cost overruns.
• Support contract administration, variation evaluation, and procurement inputs for claims.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation and MIS reports.
