Job summary

Bloom Energy is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer in Bengaluru to develop and document sheet metal components. You will craft assembly models, drawings, and BOMs, assign part numbers, and manage changes in Agile/EPDM while collaborating with Mech and EE teams to ensure compact, functional designs.

The role requires strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and 5+ years in sheet metal design, plus experience with PDM workflows and fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with emphasis on sheet metal.
• 3+ years of sheet metal design experience and process knowledge.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Proficiency with PDM tools (Agile, EPDM) and documentation processes.
• Knowledge of sheet metal processes, press tools, jigs and fixtures is desirable.
• Strong communication skills to interact with key stakeholders.
• Knowledge of mechanical tests like vibration and drop tests is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create fabrication drawings for SolidWorks models that meet company and industry drawing standards

• Work closely with the other functional teams like Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, to develop the sheet metal to fit all components compactly and meet the functional requirements
• Create effective documentation, like top level structure, assembly drawings, product drawings, fabrication files etc.
