Job summary

Bloom Energy in Bengaluru, India, is seeking an experienced mechanical/industrial engineer to support the product development roadmap, incorporating design changes to current and future product lines.

You will identify opportunities for cost reduction, material optimization, design for manufacture, and material standardization, and collaborate with commodity leaders, program managers, buyers, planners, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects stay on track and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical/Industrial/Chemical/Electrical Eng.
• Ability to read production drawings
• Experience with machining: welding, brazing, punching, bending, CNC, coating

Job Description Role and Responsibilities:

• Support product development roadmap incorporating design change and implementation to current and future product lines
• Identify and support implementation of cost reduction, material optimization, design for manufacture, and material standardization opportunities
• Support Commodity Leaders, Program Managers, Buyers, Planners, Production Control, and cross-functional teams with special projects as required
• Ensure cross-functional project teams are staying on track to meet deadlines

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Technical background with knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and understand production drawings.
• Knowledge of machining processes including welding, brazing, punching, bending, CNC, coating.
• Experience in sheet metal, cable harness desirable.
• A quick learner and team player, exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills, ability to negotiate cost reductions with suppliers and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 7+ Years relevant work experience
