Job summary

Zoomcar is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to lead a fast-moving team focused on autonomous mobile robots and advanced automation. You will conceive solutions, drive development at pace, and deliver value to customers.

You will guide design to production, establish engineering standards, and mentor a cross-disciplinary team while collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in robotics or autonomous mobile robots development.
• Degree in mechanical, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Proven track record of shipping physical automated systems into production or real operating environments.
• Experience leading or coordinating technical work in a startup-like or fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working directly with customers— listening, scoping, and translating requirements into buildable concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small cross-disciplinary team, keeping everyone aligned and moving fast toward delivery milestones.
• Design, prototype, development of autonomous mobile robots and humanoid robot systems from concept to production.
• Set technical standards, code quality practices, and development workflows that scale with the team.
• Support pre-sales and proposal activity by translating technical capabilities into compelling customer solutions.
• Stay current with emerging robotics platforms, industry trends to continuously improve team output.
• Good at FEA, FMEA, DFM activities towards complete NPD process
• Adhere to MRD, PRD and create new concepts related to AMR automation solutions
• Work with Cross functional teams to develop final products
• Complete Engineering documentations and hand over to R&D or productions
• Strong knowledge on GD&T, tolerance stacks, drawings

About the Role
