We are hiring for Senior Engineer - MEP Procurement for a reputed EPC Company.

Position: Senior Engineer - MEP Procurement

Reporting To: Senior Manager - Procurement

Location: Mumbai

Experience: 4+ years

Role Overview:

Manage MEP procurement activities from material requirement identification and vendor sourcing to negotiation, purchase order placement and timely delivery. The role will ensure procurement of quality materials and services at competitive prices while coordinating effectively with project, estimation, stores, finance, vendors and site teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. MEP Procurement Planning:

• Review BOQs, drawings, specifications and project requirements, prepare procurement schedules and ensure timely availability of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting and other MEP materials.
• Coordinate with project, estimation and site teams to plan and prioritize procurement requirements.

2. Vendor Management & Commercial Negotiation:

• Identify, evaluate and develop MEP vendors and suppliers, float enquiries, obtain quotations and coordinate technical clarifications.
• Prepare comparative statements, negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and warranties, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

3. Purchase Orders & Documentation:

• Prepare and process purchase orders as per approved technical and commercial requirements.
• Maintain quotations, comparative statements, approvals, procurement records and track open orders for timely closure.

4. Material Delivery, Quality & Coordination:

• Monitor material deliveries, coordinate with vendors, logistics, stores and project teams, and resolve supply-related issues.
• Ensure materials comply with approved specifications, makes and quality requirements, including coordination of technical submittals and approvals.

5. Cost Control & Reporting:

• Monitor procurement costs against approved budgets, track market rates and identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Prepare procurement MIS, cost reports, order status and delivery tracking reports.

6. Stakeholder & Post-Procurement Support:

• Coordinate with project, estimation, commercial, finance, QA/QC, stores, vendors, consultants and subcontractors for smooth procurement execution.
• Support invoice, payment, warranty and replacement-related matters and resolve procurement issues in coordination with relevant teams.
• Perform other responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical or relevant discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in MEP procurement, project procurement or construction procurement.
• Experience in procurement of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting and other MEP materials preferred.
• Experience in infrastructure, data center, commercial, industrial or MEP projects preferred.
• Strong experience in vendor management, commercial negotiation and purchase order processing.
