Job summary

Exide Energy Solutions Ltd is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee QA across Formation, Electrode, and Assembly within Li-ion battery production in Bengaluru. You will implement quality policies, lead a team, and drive continuous improvement to meet regulatory and customer expectations.

The role requires strong knowledge of measurement and quality tools, and hands-on experience with ISO/IATF standards, SPC, and root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Min 5 years of experience in a management role.
• Preferred industry: Battery/Automobile/EV.
• Hands on experience with Quality tools: SPC, FMEA, 8D.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure manufacturing processes meet quality standards and specs.
• Ensure strict monitoring of process parameters across Formation, Electrode, and Assembly stages.
• Establish inspection protocols and perform regular audits to address deviations.
• Lead quality improvement projects and train personnel on QC procedures.
• Investigate root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor KPIs and prepare for internal/external audits.

Job Overview

Quality Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance within Formation area. This includes implementing quality policies, procedures and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer expectations, lead a team of quality professionals, drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of quality within the department.

To ensure success as a quality Engineer, he should have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts, excellent visual awareness and the ability to lead a group of associates.

Roles & Responsibility (Formation)

• Develop and implement quality control procedure to ensure that manufacturing processes meet quality standards and spec.
• Ensure strict monitoring of all Li-ion Cell Formation process parameters (Pre-Charge, Capacity grading etc).
• Establish inspection protocols and perform regular audits to identify and address deviations from quality standards.
• Work closely with engineering, production and performance validation teams to identify opportunities for quality improvement and drive implementation of process enhancements.
• Lead quality improvement projects (yield improvement, scrap reduction)
• Provide training and guidance to manufacturing personnel on quality control procedures and best practices.
• Foster a culture of quality excellences and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track quality performance and initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Follow the accreditation to ISO IATF 16949 standard requirements.
• Follow the periodic inspections as per the Procedures, control plan, Sops.
• Implementation of improvement projects (Kaizens/ Poka-Yoke /ECR’s/ QCC facilitation)
• Ensure readiness for internal and external audits

• Lead quality improvement projects (yield improvement, scrap reduction)
• Provide training and guidance to manufacturing personnel on quality control procedures and best practices.
• Foster a culture of quality excellences and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
