Job summary

DP World Chennai is seeking a Senior Engineer I – Package Engineer Instrumentation to lead instrumentation and control system engineering for offshore and onshore projects, with FEED, detailed engineering and commissioning exposure.

Based at Chennai, you will coordinate vendor engineering, support FAT/IFAT/SAT activities and ensure IEC 61508/61511 compliance while guiding multidisciplinary teams and interfacing with EPC contractors and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering or technical equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation and control system engineering for offshore and onshore projects.
• Develop and review instrument indexes, I/O lists, control narratives, and diagrams.
• Manage vendor engineering, technical bid evaluations, procurement, and document reviews.
• Support FAT, IFAT, SAT, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Coordinate with clients, EPC contractors, OEMs, licensors, and class authorities (DNV).
• Lead 3D model reviews, construction support and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61508, IEC 61511, client specifications, and international standards.

Role Purpose

Experienced Senior Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer with 16+ years of expertise in offshore oil & gas, FLNG, FPSO, wellhead platforms, refinery, and terminal automation projects. Specialized in ICSS, PCS, ESD, PSD, F&G, PMS, HIPS, and Functional Safety Systems, with extensive experience covering FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, FAT/IFAT, commissioning, and startup support.

Base Location: Chennai

Reporting to: GSC EPC Manager.

Key Role Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation and control system engineering for offshore and onshore projects.
• Develop and review instrument indexes, I/O lists, control narratives, Cause & Effect diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Manage vendor engineering, technical bid evaluations, procurement, and document reviews.
• Support FAT, IFAT, SAT, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Coordinate with clients, EPC contractors, OEMs, licensors, and class authorities (DNV).
• Lead 3D model reviews, construction support and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61508, IEC 61511, client specifications, and international standards.
