Job summary

Gradiant is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Automation Engineer to join our Global Engineering Centre in India. The role involves executing international and local projects with emphasis on instrumentation design, data sheets, and drawings.

The ideal candidate has up to 10 years of relevant EPC experience, familiarity with flow meters and field instruments, and will ensure adherence to codes and safety standards while supporting procurement and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Water, chemical processing, power, pharma, food or oil & gas project experience preferred.
• Knowledge of WTP/STP/WWTP/ETP/UPW projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue Instrument schedules, I/O lists, cable schedules and junction box drawings.
• Review control room layouts, cable trays, DCS/SIS/BMS loop drawings and installation drawings.
• Create instrument data sheets for valves, analyzers and transmitters; review vendor documents.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and ensure quality, safety, and standards compliance.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation and Automation Engineer with less than 10 years of experience to join our Global Engineering Centre team to execute International and Local projects in India. The ideal candidate will have less than or equal to 10 years of relevant experience, with a preference for those who have worked in an EPC environment, international project experience.

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare, check, and issue Instrument schedule / Index, Instrument I/O list, Instrument Cable Schedule, Cable Block Diagram, JB Interconnection Drawing, Junction Box schedule, Instrument Hookup Drawings, System Architecture Drawing and Bulk Material take off.
• Review of Control Room Layout, Cable Tray Layout, Instrument & JB Location Layout, DCS, SIS, BMS systems Loop drawings, Instrument Hook-up Drawing & Instrument Installation Drawing.
• Preparing Instrument data sheets for Control valves, On-off valves,PSVs, and other field instruments like Analyzers, Level, Flow, Temperature and Pressure Transmitters and Gauges.
• Familiar in all Flow Instruments like Orifice, Magnetic, Paddle, Ultrasonic, Turbine and Vortex Flow meters.
• To have experience in complete procurement Engineering cycle of field Instruments with Datasheet preparation, RFQ, Technical Query, TBE and Vendor Document Review.
• To have experience on reviewing Mechanical packages with Static and Rotating equipments.
• Review of P&ID's, Cause & Effect Matrix, Control Philosophy.
• Review of all 2D Drawings and 3D Model with navis.
• Interdisciplinary Checking with Process, Mechanical, Piping and Civil/Structural.
• Be responsible for the design and technical support of all hardware, software,instrumentation and controls elements as part of an integrated system for PLC.
• Collaborate with Technical project manager to plan and execute projects on time and on budgeted manhours
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and progress assessments to ensure project objectives are met.
• Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that all Electrical designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry bestpractices. Conduct quality control reviews to verify design integrity and safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor / Master Degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Instrumentation, Instrumentation Engineering
• Water Projects, Chemical Processing, Power Plant projects, Pharmaceuticals, Food Industry and/or Oil & Gas Projects experience is preferred.
• Knowledge in WTP/STP/WWTP/ETP/UPW projects added advantage.
