Job summary

Petrofac is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer based in Chennai to lead detailed HVAC design activities for onshore and offshore projects.

You will perform load calculations, prepare P&IDs, D&IDs, and ducting layouts, coordinate with multiple disciplines, manage vendor inquiries, and participate in technical bid evaluations to ensure equipment meets client specs and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 10–15 years of related experience in EPC or consultancy for Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities

• Developing detailed HVAC System Design by spearheading complete functions including heating & cooling load calculations and design drawings such as P&IDs, D&IDs and ducting/piping layouts.
• Provide inputs for platform layouts; organize issuing engineering drawings and technical documents for IDC checks; coordinate with other engineering disciplines in data integration.
• Supervise technical inquiry requests to vendors; participate in vendor bid evaluations; guide Technical Bid Evaluations; review vendor drawings; ensure equipment specifications meet client requirements within budget.

Job Description

Onshore & Offshore HVAC Design Engineer with 10 to 15 years' experience

• Developing detailed HVAC System Design by spearheading complete functions which shall include but not limited to performing Heating & cooling load calculations, design drawings like P&IDs, D&IDs and ducting piping layouts etc

Provide inputs for the preparation of platform layouts; organize the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC’s) coordinate with other engineering discipline in the integration of data inputs.

• Supervise the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors; participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), review vendor drawings and documents. Supervise the review of design calculations, ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client specifications and are within budgeted costs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum 10 - 15 years of related experience preferable from a background in working for EPC or consultancy organizations in the of the Oil and Gas Industry.
