Job summary

Petrofac Chennai is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer with 10-15 years of onshore and offshore experience to lead detailed HVAC design activities. You will perform load calculations, prepare P&IDs, D&IDs and ducting layouts, and coordinate IDC checks with other disciplines.

The role involves guiding vendor bid evaluations and ensuring designs meet client specs and budgets. Based in Chennai, you will work within an EPC/consultancy environment for Oil & Gas projects, providing technical leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 10–15 years of related experience preferably from EPC or consultancy in Oil & Gas industries.
• 10–15 years of onshore/offshore HVAC design experience.
• Experience performing heating and cooling load calculations and generating design drawings such as P&IDs, D&IDs, and duct layouts.
• Coordinate IDC checks and data integration with other engineering disciplines.
• Oversee technical bid evaluations and vendor drawing reviews to meet client specs and budgets.

Job Description

Onshore & Offshore HVAC Design Engineer with 10 to 15 years' experience

• Developing detailed HVAC System Design by spearheading complete functions which shall include but not limited to performing Heating & cooling load calculations, design drawings like P&IDs, D&IDs and ducting piping layouts etc
• Provide inputs for the preparation of platform layouts; organize the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC’s) coordinate with other engineering discipline in the integration of data inputs.
• Supervise the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors; participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), review vendor drawings and documents. Supervise the review of design calculations, ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client specifications and are within budgeted costs.

Essential Qualifications And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum 10 - 15 years of related experience preferable from a background in working for EPC or consultancy organizations in the of the Oil and Gas Industry.
