Job summary

Flex is seeking a Senior Engineer– Equipment in Sriperumbudur to support SMT/back-end machine maintenance, drive uptime above 98%, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

You will coordinate maintenance with engineering and operations, manage KPI targets like OEE and FPY, and develop equipment roadmaps while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 6+ years of SMT equipment maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of SMT equipment (DEK, Pick & Place, Reflow, AOI, Wave) and related processes.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma Green Belt.
• Experience with TPM and 7QC tools; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily department activities to maximize equipment utilization.
• Coordinate maintenance with engineering and operations to ensure efficient operation.
• Lead SMT equipment transfer and installation projects; develop equipment roadmaps.
• Drive productivity and automation initiatives; present performance reviews to management.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain KPI targets (Uptime, OEE, FPY).
• Provide on-the-job training and share advanced technical knowledge.

Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Senior Engineer– Equipment located in Sriperumbudur.

What a typical day looks like: Should have worked in SMT / Backend machine maintenance Directs daily department activities to maximize equipment utilization and support production needs. Coordinates maintenance activities with other functional groups such as engineering and operations to ensure the efficient operation of the departmental function. Strong SMT equipment and process Knowledge such as DEK, Pick and Place, Reflow, AOI, and Wave Must work and drive for their department KPI and continuously strive to balance and optimize line throughput Initiate efforts to minimize changeover downtime as making common set-ups Monitor machine management data in order to maximize utilization and minimize machine-generated scrap. Adhere to all safety and health regulations as directed by the Manager and follow the procedures within the company's security policies. Should have Knowledge on OEE, MMTR, MTBF Monitor the Maintenance co-ordination and downtime trend with CFT Must have Lean manufacturing and Six sigma green belt. Must be good in 7QC tools / TPM Responsible to drive for Continuous improvement activities Must have MS Office experience to prepare daily reports to present.

Develop SMT equipment roadmap. Lead equipment transfer and installation projects. Drive yearly productivity and automation initiatives. Present weekly and monthly performance reviews to management. Coordinate with customers, global engineering teams, and equipment suppliers for strategic improvements. Demonstrates advanced technical skills which may be used to conduct on-the-job training and/or guides other employees. Demonstrates broad knowledge of functional techniques and has input to process improvement. Has awareness of and may apply new technologies. Proven ability of successfully communicate with internal and external parties. Must have a thorough knowledge of the maintenance of complex manufacturing process equipment Strong experience in SMT machine maintenance (Pick & Place, Screen printer, DEK Printer, Wave soldering) Experience in machine programing and trouble shooting Knowledge in Automated Optical Inspection Good Communication and presentation skills Team handling experience.
