Job summary

Roots Group is seeking a Manufacturing Excellence Engineer to drive continuous improvement across multiple plants in Coimbatore. The role emphasizes Lean, automation initiatives, and data-driven problem solving to boost productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

You will collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to deploy best practices, monitor KPIs, and support Industry 4.0 projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing / Production Engineering.
• 5-8 years in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, CI, or operational excellence roles.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, 5S, SMED, Poka-Yoke.
• Hands-on experience in process improvement and data-driven problem solving.
• Experience or exposure to Jig, Fixture and SP M building preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify process inefficiencies and implement cost, quality, and productivity improvements.
• Identify and implement low-cost automation in manufacturing.
• Facilitate Kaizen identification and implementation support.
• Prepare value stream mapping and identify improvement areas in material feeding/handling.
• Develop and standardize best manufacturing practices across lines/plants.
• Monitor and improve KPIs such as OEE, cycle time, scrap, rework, and downtime.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to debottleneck processes.
• Support digital manufacturing / Industry 4.0 initiatives.
