Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking an experienced Bus Body Engineer with 15+ years of experience to drive the design and development of BIW, trims, dashboards, seating integration, doors, and exterior structures, ensuring safety, ergonomics, manufacturability, cost, quality and customer requirements.

The role emphasizes Bus Body engineering ownership, concept development with styling studio collaboration, and coordination from feasibility to production.

Qualifications

• BE/ME degree required or equivalent in mechanical/automotive
• 15+ years of experience in bus body design or automotive structure
• Strong knowledge of BIW, trims, dashboards and interior/exterior assemblies

Responsibilities

• Design and development of BIW, trims, dashboard, seating integration, doors, and related interiors and exterior structures ensuring safety, ergonomics, manufacturability, cost, quality, and customer requirements.
• Lead Bus Body engineering and all related functions and aspects of Bus Body.
• Create and develop design concepts and coordinate with styling studio from concept feasibility to production implementation.
• Perform design calculations, tolerance analyses, feasibility studies, and set Gap & flushness targets with DFMA/DFM in mind.
• Support CAE teams for structural, crash, durability, NVH, and fatigue simulations; review results and implement changes.
• Oversee CAB design engineering deliveries and ESO targets for assigned projects.
• Review CAB engineering SORs with suppliers to meet performance, homologation and perceived quality requirements.
• Drive cabin-related value engineering and cost reduction initiatives; ensure implementation.
• Support cabin localization and supplier development initiatives.
• Manage CAB engineering BOM changes and releases per project requirements.

• Responsible for the design, development of BIW (Body in White), trims, dashboard, seating integration, doors, and associated interiors and exterior structures ensuring compliance with safety, ergonomics, manufacturability, cost, quality, and customer requirements.
• Responsible for Bus Body engineering and all related functions and aspects of Bus Body.
• Responsible for creating & Developing design concepts & co ordinating with styling studio from concept feasibility to production implementation- considering driver comfort, visibility, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, feasibility studies, define Gap & flushness targets considering DFM, DFA & DFS.
• Support CAE teams for structural, crash, durability, NVH, and fatigue simulations & Review test results and implement necessary design modifications.
• Responsible for CAB design- Engineering Deliveries / ESO as per targets for assigned projects.
• Responsible for reviewing Cab engineering related SOR’s for suppliers for meeting performance, functional, homologation & Perceived quality requirements.
• Drive Cabin related value engineering and cost reduction initiatives & ensure implementation.
• Responsible to Support Cabin related localization and supplier development initiatives.
• Manage CAB engineering BOM changes and releases as per project requirements.
