Job summary

Dellner Bubenzer in Chennai seeks an experienced Senior Engineer Industrial Hydraulics to lead design and development of hydraulic systems and components for industrial braking solutions.

The role requires 13–15 years in hydraulics, strong CAD/PLM skills, and hands-on capability to develop schematics, drawings, and BOMs while coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with 13–15 years of experience in hydraulic industrial systems and components design.
• Experience in subsystem design with emphasis on hydraulic and mechanical solutions for industrial hydraulic systems.
• Sound understanding of hydraulic and mechanical engineering principles and hands-on engineering calculations.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems standards, guidelines and norms.
• Ability to independently design hydraulic schematics, cylinders used with industrial brakes and related components.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic component selection with reputable brands.
• Independently create manufacturing drawings at component and assembly level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers, colleagues, suppliers and inspectors.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end design from concept to validation across the project life cycle, with budget awareness.
• Lead or contribute to R&D project life cycle and develop subsystems for industrial braking.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, modelings, drawings, manuals and parts lists for projects.
• Pursue innovations within Dellner Wind Solutions portfolio and drive toward commercialization.
• Coordinate with purchasing, manufacturing and suppliers to ensure timely completion of designs.
• Stay organized, multitask and prioritize to meet schedule and budget constraints.
• Support sales during RFQ by providing product specifications for costing.
• Occasional travel to customer facilities and windfarm sites in India for discussions and troubleshooting.

Job Description for the Position of Senior Engineer Industrial Hydraulics

Location- Chennai

1. Qualification & Experience

• Bachelors / master's degree with 13 to 15 years of experience in Hydraulic industrial systems and components design. Candidate from Industrial Brakes Industry will be preferred.
• Experience in Sub system Design solutions with a strong emphasis in Hydraulic and Mechanical solutions mainly for industrial hydraulic systems.
• Must have sound understanding of hydraulic and mechanical engineering principles and hands-on experience in engineering calculations & hydraulic design knowledge.
• Must possess knowledge of relevant hydraulic systems standards, guidelines and norms.
• Judgement and foresight in system technology including costs aspects.
• Must be able to independently design Hydraulic schematics, hydraulic cylinders used with industrial brakes and associated components.
• Extremely strong knowledge on the Hydraulic component's selection with well-known brands and local brands
• Independently create manufacturing drawings at component and assembly level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with customers, visitors, co-workers, management, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory inspectors.

2. Responsibilities

• End to End design from Concept development, design development and verification, validation across the entire project life cycle, ensuring task completion and budget management.
• Contributing to all phases of R&D project life cycle as technical resource or as technical lead. The role contributes to the development of solutions, subsystems for the industrial braking and leads research and development evaluations, designing and providing recommendations for stakeholders.
• Leads or completes technical reports, design calculations, product modelling, manufacturing drawings, product manuals, parts lists, and other necessary technical documentation for the project, by engaging with other experts and project resources with high quality and in timely manner.
• Continuously seeks new innovations and ideas for the products and processes within the Dellner Wind Solutions portfolio, by researching and developing solutions and technologies leading to full commercialization.
• Coordinate with purchasing, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure a technically accurate and timely completion of new product designs and existing design improvements.
• Highly organized and able to multitask and prioritize various activities to ensure timely and accurate compliance with schedule and budget requirements.
• Supporting sales during RFQ process and ensuring sufficient internal product specification for establishing product costing.
• Role may also involve travelling on a as required basis to customer facility, windfarm sites across India for technical discussions, troubleshooting with technicians etc

3. Methods & Processes

• Proficiency in 3D CAD package involving part modelling, assembly modelling, sheet metal modelling, routing and detailing.
• Should independently be able to create manufacturing drawings for cylinder and brake components, GA drawings for sub and main assembly as per appropriate standards, involving application of appropriate tolerances, surface finish and treatment and drafting standards.
• Should have hands on experience in PLM, ERP Systems and in MS office applications.
• Should have experience working in an ISO 9001 certified company.
• Follow company's procedures and processes of engineering design & project execution.
• Knowledge of ISO, DNVGL processes or any certification from IFPS or equivalent institute will be an advantage.

4. Team interaction

• Must be a strong team player.
• Must have strong communication skills to interact with interdepartmental team members, customers, sub-suppliers.
• Must be able to work independently towards execution of the projects with minimal support.
