Job summary

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer in India to contribute to electrical system design for oil & gas, power, and renewables. You will draft layouts, SLDs, and 3D models, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to meet client standards and project timelines.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering with 7–10+ years of relevant experience, strong CAD skills, and knowledge of international codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7 years of related experience; average 10+ years.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Word).
• Knowledge of electrical concepts and 3-phase power calculations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft/design activities using AutoCAD/Microstation.
• Drafting SLDs and schematics with engineers support.
• Prepare electrical layouts with inter-discipline interfaces.
• Develop design/construction standards with minimal supervision.
• Model cable trays, light fixtures in E3D/S3D.
• Layout substation equipment/cable trays with minimal supervision.
• Prepare material quantities for electrical bulks.
• Use NavisWorks/Smartplant Review for design reviews.
• Adhere to client requirements and local/international codes.
• Create drawing lists based on scope of work documents.
• Finalize templates/contents for electrical layouts per contract.
• Ensure compliance with quality system requirements.

Senior Electrical Designer

These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

As part of the electrical engineering team you will be involved in the design of electrical systems for the oil and gas and/or power including renewable energies industries. This may be a conceptual study or front-end engineering design (FEED) or a design execution involving, the procurement of all equipment and detailed drawings for the construction and commissioning of an entire facility.

Responsibilities

• Expertise in drafting/design activities using AutoCAD/Microstation
• Drafting SLDs and schematics with support of engineers
• Prepare electrical layouts independently taking care of inter discipline interfaces
• Prepare design/construction standards with minimum support
• Modeling of cable trays, light fixtures and other electrical items in E3D/S3D environment
• Prepare substation equipment / cable tray layouts with minimum support from supervisor
• Prepare material quantities for electrical bulks independently
• Expert use of review tools like NavisWorks/Smartplant Review
• Understanding and implementing client requirements / local / international codes and standards relevant to electrical design
• Prepare drawing list for project based on scope of work document
• Finalise templates and contents for various Electrical layouts based on client / contract requirements
• Understand and implement quality system requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
• 7 years of related experience with the average experience of 10+ years
• Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications specifically: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word
• Diploma (Full Time) /Degree (Part Time) in Electrical Engineering
• Good understanding of Electrical concepts and 3 phase power calculations
• Good written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing a small/medium team of designers
• Experience in working in multi-cultural environment
• Provide effective training to young designers in 2D/3D Tools
