Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a Lead Designer (Electrical) in Bengaluru, India. The role involves producing detailed design drawings and developing high-quality electrical models for the oil and gas industry. Candidates must have a degree in Electrical and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

The ideal applicant will have strong knowledge of interdisciplinary interfaces and be proficient in E3D and AutoCAD. The position offers opportunities to engage in complex projects and collaborate with various engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English (speaking and writing).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Prior work experience in EPCs or engineering consultancies.

Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Designer (Electrical) for the project.
• Prepare arrangement and detailed conceptual drawings.
• Produce high-quality FEED and detailed design drawings.
• Develop 3D models ensuring inter-disciplinary checks.
• Ensure design deliverables meet project specifications.
• Interface with other disciplines for design inputs.
• Review 3D models and extract MTOs from drawings.
• Assist Discipline Lead in preparing estimates.
• Review vendor drawings to meet project requirements.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Designer (Electrical) for the project
• Prepare and develop arrangement and detailed conceptual drawings for Electrical discipline
• Produce high quality FEED, studies, and detailed design drawings with professional presentation ensuring clarity and ease of construction
• Develop 3D models maintaining inter-disciplinary checks with all other disciplines
• Ensure design deliverables are completed and issued as per project specifications
• Study and understand the E&I design scope; be conversant with Company and Client procedures, standards, and applicable international codes and standards
• Interface with other disciplines to obtain input for discipline designs and drawings
• Candidly review 3D models, extract cable, cable tray MTO, and earthing MTO from respective layout drawings
• Assist Discipline Lead in preparing estimates for proposals and job scope changes, including execution statements, work schedules, and man‑hour requirements
• Prepare and review discipline deliverables: 3D model, detailed design drawings, as‑built drawings, MTO extraction and preparation
• Support import and export of reference model to PDMS / E3D from vendor inputs
• Review vendor drawings deliverables to ensure they meet project requirements
• Maintain state‑of‑the‑art knowledge in discipline in accordance with applicable codes and standards
