Job summary

RSK IEC in Gurugram, India, is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineer specializing in water/wastewater projects. You will deliver electrical design outputs, ensure BS 7671 compliance, coordinate with remote teams, and support multi-discipline deliverables with a focus on safety and CDM.

You will lead design interfaces, guide project teams, and review bid assessments. A bachelor’s degree, professional registration, and ~10 years of experience, plus fluent English, are required to meet deadlines

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook required.
  • Knowledge of BS 7671 “Requirements for Electrical Installations.”
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Area / Explosive Atmospheres (BS EN 60079-10).
  • Extensive electrical engineering design experience and ability to assess design work.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering electrical engineering projects.
  • Experience with water & wastewater treatment processes.
  • Understanding of UK health and safety legislation and its requirements.
  • Ability to produce high quality work to deadlines.
  • Team player with good organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Produce clear electrical engineering deliverables including general arrangement drawings, sizing calculations, equipment selection, datasheets, schedules and reports.
  • Manage/review electrical designs to BS 7671:2018.
  • Ensure compliance with in-house procedures and quality systems.
  • Support remote teams and contribute to multidisciplinary deliverables such as P&IDs.
  • Define project design basis and scope; validate and verify engineering design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Promote safety and CDM compliance across projects.

Job description

This is a full-time role working 40 hours a week. Work from Office.

Responsibilities
  • Produce clear and concise Electrical engineering deliverables appropriate for the intended audience including general arrangement drawings, equipment sizing calculations, equipment and material selection, enquiry documentation, datasheets, schedules and reports.
  • Manage / review electrical designs to BS 7671:2018
  • Compliance with in-house procedural & quality systems.
  • Contribute to and support the remote teams that you are working with.
  • Support the development of key multidiscipline deliverables such as P&IDs.
  • Managing design interfaces with other disciplines and integration of the Electrical design elements into the overall design.
  • Working closely with project teams, other engineering disciplines, Project Managers, estimating, site and commissioning teams, CAD, Joint Venture partners and Clients.
  • Undertaking technical bid assessments, subcontractor design reviews and providing technical support to site teams.
  • Providing technical guidance and supervision to project teams.
  • Define the basis of project design and scope as well as validating and verifying the engineering design, construction, installation, and commissioning.
  • Promote and manage safety within your assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and practices, ensuring the project engineering is compliant with company, HSE and industry regulations.
Desired experience
  • Applicants must have excellent IT skills, particularly MS Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of BS 7671 “Requirements for Electrical Installations”
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Area / Potentially Explosive Atmospheres (BS EN 60079-10 etc.)
  • Extensive electrical engineering design experience and the ability to assess design work.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering electrical engineering projects.
  • Existing knowledge of water & wastewater treatment processes.
  • A working knowledge of the UK’s health and safety legislation and its requirements.
  • Able to produce high quality work to deadlines.
  • Flexible working attitude able to work as an individual or as a team member.
Person specification

The role is suitable for technically strong, commercially aware candidates with a background in Electrical Engineering in the water industry or other closely related industries. Fluent in English both technically and socially.

You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in your home country or the country in which you are practicing.
  • Registered with a relevant professional engineering institution
  • Typically, have a minimum of 10 years related work experience.
  • Clean water and wastewater engineering systems design experience including equipment specification, HV, Switchgear, plant layout, working knowledge of other discipline needs, preparation of plant and equipment layouts, change and risk management, preparation of technical and economic evaluations for Electrical plant.
  • Understanding and recognising limitations in knowledge and seeking advice where appropriate.
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal effectively and establish rapport with people at all levels.
  • Professional approach and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Team player with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to take ownership of tasks and use initiative to solve problems, exercising appropriate level of judgement.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines, prioritising with a flexible approach.
