Job summary

Valveworks India in Pune seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead design and development of pressure control equipment per API 6A standards. You will create 3D models and BOMs using Inventor, Vault, SolidWorks, and perform FEA validations.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to engineering standards while ensuring compliance with ASME, API 6A, and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering is required; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with API 6A product design and certification processes.
  • Proficiency in INVENTOR, VAULT, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, MathCAD, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, API 6A, and API Q1 standards is a must
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, heat treatment, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of pressure control equipment per API 6A standards (valves, wellhead components, tree assemblies, etc.).
  • Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs using Inventor, Vault or similar CAD tools.
  • Conduct FEA and other mechanical calculations to validate designs.
  • Ensure compliance with API 6A, ASME, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain teams.
  • Provide engineering support for prototype testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in and/or lead design reviews, DFMEAs, and engineering change processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of internal engineering standards and best practices.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, including material specifications, test procedures, and certification packages.

We are committed to excellence in design, manufacturing, and service, with a deep focus on API 6A equipment used in wellhead and tree applications.

We are currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a critical role for an experienced professional with a deep understanding of API 6A standards and the design of surface pressure control equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of pressure control equipment per API 6A standards (valves, wellhead components, tree assemblies, etc.).
  • Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs using Inventor, Vault or similar CAD tools.
  • Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other mechanical calculations to validate designs.
  • Ensure compliance with API 6A, ASME, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain teams.
