Job summary

Harita Techserv seeks a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop industrial valves, create 3D models, and produce detailed drawings in SolidWorks. You will modify components per customer specs, work with various valve types, and prepare GA drawings and BOMs.

The role requires strong GD&T knowledge, experience with industrial valves, and proficiency in design calculations, materials selection, and manufacturing drawings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Mechanical Design experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience in SolidWorks.
• Strong experience in Valve Design / Valve Development.
• Experience with industrial/process valves.
• Good knowledge of Ball, Gate, Globe, Butterfly, Check and/or Plug Valves.
• Strong knowledge of 3D modelling, assembly and detailing.
• Good knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience in GA and manufacturing drawings.
• Experience in BOM preparation.
• Knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in design calculations and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop industrial valves and valve components using SolidWorks.
• Create 3D part models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Design and modify valve components based on customer requirements and specifications.
• Work on different types of valves such as Ball, Gate, Globe, Butterfly, Check and Plug Valves.
• Prepare GA drawings, component drawings, assembly drawings and BOMs.
• Apply GD&T, dimensional tolerances, surface finish and engineering standards.
• Perform design calculations related to pressure rating, temperature rating, material selection and valve sizing, as applicable.
• Select suitable materials based on pressure, temperature, service conditions and application requirements.
• Ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing, assembly, inspection and testing.
• Review existing designs and implement design modifications and improvements.
• Work with manufacturing, quality, procurement and other engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support prototype development, testing, validation and troubleshooting.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, BOMs and revision history.
• Handle ECR/ECN and engineering change activities.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable API, ASME, ISO and customer-specific standards.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical solutions for complex design/manufacturing issues.
