Job summary

Protera is seeking a Senior Consultant – SAP HCM to design, implement, and support SAP HCM solutions in a remote India environment. You will translate HR requirements into effective SAP configurations and work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable HR processes.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in Personnel Admin, Organizational Management, Time Management, and Payroll, and will mentor junior consultants while contributing to project delivery and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of the SAP HCM module.
• Hands-on configuration in Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, or Payroll.
• Experience translating HR requirements into SAP functional designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAP HCM requirements gathering, workshops, design and configuration.
• Configure SAP HCM areas including PA, OM, TM, and Payroll.
• Plan and execute functional testing; support UAT and defects.
• Prepare process docs, configuration guides and training materials.
• Collaborate with finance/technical teams for SAP HCM integration with FI/CO.
• Support SAP HCM implementations, upgrades, rollouts and enhancements.
• Data migration, cutover planning and post-go-live support.
• Investigate issues, perform root-cause analysis and coordinate fixes.
• Manage incidents, SLAs, and change control for HCM.
• Mentor juniors and contribute to proposals and SLAs.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Consultant – SAP HCM to design, implement, and support SAP Human Capital Management solutions. This role requires strong functional knowledge of SAP HCM, hands-on configuration experience, and the ability to translate HR business requirements into effective system solutions. The role combines project delivery with ongoing application support to maintain reliable HR operations and improve business processes.

The ideal candidate will work closely with clients and cross-functional teams to improve HR processes, support transformation initiatives, and deliver quality solutions while mentoring junior consultants.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design and Delivery

• Lead SAP HCM requirements gathering, process workshops, solution design, and configuration.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and practical recommendations.
• Configure and support relevant SAP HCM areas, including Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, and Payroll, according to project scope.
• Plan and execute functional testing, support user acceptance testing, and resolve defects.
• Prepare process documentation, configuration guides, and training materials.

Integration and Cross Functional Alignment

• Collaborate with finance and technical teams to support integration between SAP HCM, SAP FI/CO, and related applications.
• Support employee and organizational data flows across SAP and third-party systems.
• Work with development teams on reports, interfaces, enhancements, and workflows.
• Transformation and Application Support
• Support SAP HCM implementations, upgrades, rollouts, and ongoing enhancements.
• Contribute to data migration, validation, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.
• Investigate functional issues, identify root causes, and recommend sustainable improvements.
• Apply appropriate controls for sensitive employee data and role-based access.
• Manage SAP HCM incidents, service requests, and configuration changes in line with agreed service levels
• Investigate recurring issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with technical teams and SAP support.
• Support release testing and regression testing, maintain support documentation, and communicate issue status to business users.

Program and Team Leadership

• Own assigned HCM workstreams, including estimates, deliverables, risks, and dependencies.
• Communicate progress and recommendations to business stakeholders and project leadership.
• Mentor junior consultants and review deliverables for quality and consistency.
• Contribute to proposals, statements of work, and effort estimates.

SAP HCM Expertise

• Strong working knowledge of the SAP HCM module and its core HR processes.
• Hands-on configuration and support experience in one or more core areas: Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, or Payroll.
• Understanding of employee master data, organizational structures, personnel actions, and relevant business rules.
• Experience translating HR requirements into SAP functional designs.

Implementation and Integration Experience

• Experience providing ongoing SAP HCM application support, including incident management, troubleshooting, and service request delivery.
• Experience delivering SAP HCM implementations, enhancements, or support engagements.
• Familiarity with integration between SAP HCM, finance, and external HR or payroll applications.
• Experience with testing, data migration, issue resolution, and deployment activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multi-country HR environments or complex organizational structures.
• Exposure to payroll processing, time evaluation, or employee and manager self-service.
• Experience in SAP transformation programs and HR process standardization.

Nice to Have Skills

• SAP SuccessFactors experience, including Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll, or other SuccessFactors modules.
• Exposure to integration between SAP HCM and SAP SuccessFactors.
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori, SAP Integration Suite, or HR reporting and analytics.
• Relevant SAP HCM or SAP SuccessFactors certification.
