Job summary

IFS is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Architect to lead planning, design, and governance of our M365 environment. You will implement protection, retention, and compliance policies across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related services.

The role emphasizes automation via PowerShell, Azure AD integration, and collaboration with IT security and legal. Hybrid work options are available in India, with a focus on staying ahead of tech trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or IT is required.
• Strong expertise in the Microsoft 365 collaboration suite.
• Proven troubleshooting and cloud cybersecurity focus.
• Proficient in PowerShell and Azure AD automation.
• Experience administering Purview, Viva, Copilot, and Power Platform.
• ITIL familiarity and Microsoft certifications preferred.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and resource allocation for Microsoft 365 projects.

• Implement DLP, information protection, and conditional access policies.

Job Description

• Lead operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
• Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft 365 solutions, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Purview, Viva, Copilot, Power Platform and Security & Compliance features.
• Implement data loss prevention (DLP), information protection, and conditional access policies to ensure secure access to Microsoft modern workplace solution within the organization.
• Collaborate with legal, IT security, and other relevant parties to understand and develop data retention and information protection policies to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and manage Microsoft 365 compliance solutions, including data retention policies, labeling, and data loss prevention (DLP) for all M365 collaboration services including SharePoint, Exchange, and Teams.
• Oversee the configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Purview to ensure data governance and compliance.
• Lead the technical assessment, onboarding, and secure integration of third‑party AI tools with Microsoft 365 services.
• Monitor service health, usage, and performance across the M365 ecosystem.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to integrate compliance solutions with existing systems and workflows.
• Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement Office 365 suite and other systems.
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• The ideal applicant should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology and more than 7 years of hands‑on experience in related fields.
• Strong expertise in the Microsoft 365 collaboration suite.
• Strong troubleshooting and service optimization skills, with a keen interest in cloud computing and cybersecurity.
• Proficient in PowerShell and able to integrate with Azure AD, handle bulk updates across Office 365 services, manage Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams configurations, and automate administrative tasks.
• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience administering Purview, Viva, Copilot, and the Power Platform.
• Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks preferred.
• Microsoft certifications related to above areas.
• Strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills.
