Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Chemist to manage quality analysis of input and output materials in the Steel Melting Shop (SMS) and ensure compliance with defined process quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct testing of raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, and by-products.
• Prepare and maintain quality test reports as per requirements.
• Ensure adherence to relevant IS standards for raw material, product testing, and calibration procedures.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality deviations.
• Plan manpower and ensure adherence to the laboratory testing schedule.
• Ensure effective resolution and prevention of internal and external customer complaints.
• Develop new testing/analysis methods and standardize laboratory equipment.
• Ensure availability of laboratory chemicals as per RM, WIP, and product testing requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, IMS, NABL, EHS, and 5S standards.
• Guide, coach, and develop junior chemists and laboratory team members.

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of relevant experience in process quality laboratories, preferably in a steel plant/SMS setup.
• B.E. / Diploma in Chemical or Metallurgy.
• Strong knowledge of raw material grades and quality parameters.
• Good understanding of basic and advanced chemical testing procedures.
• Knowledge of billet grades and relevant IS testing standards.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
