Job summary

Envirocare Infrasolution Private Limited is seeking an experienced SMS Head to lead the steel melting shop operations, covering Induction Furnace, Continuous Casting Machine, and related processes. You will drive production targets, safety, quality, and cost control, while building a high-performing team.

The role calls for a strong track record in SMS plants, hands-on furnace experience, and leadership capabilities to deliver operational excellence across the entire steel making sequence.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech. in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering (required).
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience as HOD / Process Head of an SMS plant.
• Hands-on experience with Induction Furnace and CCM technology.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-management skills.
• Good understanding of SMS process and continuous casting operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead SMS operations and ensure production of billets as per the approved business plan.
• Improve production efficiency, billet yield, quality, and overall process performance.
• Optimize raw material consumption, feed mix, power consumption, and production cost.
• Ensure maximum plant uptime and coordinate with Process and Maintenance teams for shutdown planning.
• Drive RCA and ensure timely CAPA implementation for process and quality deviations.
• Ensure billets meet customer specifications for chemistry and grade.
• Prepare and control the annual SMS budget and monitor cost per ton of billet.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team with adequate manpower.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, IMS, SOP, and 5S requirements.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SMS Head to lead the overall operations of the Steel Melting Shop, including Induction Furnace, Continuous Casting Machine (CCM), and Slag Recovery. The role will be responsible for achieving production, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and operational excellence targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SMS operations and ensure production of billets as per the approved business plan.
• Improve production efficiency, billet yield, quality, and overall process performance.
• Optimize raw material consumption, feed mix, power consumption, and production cost.
• Ensure maximum plant uptime and coordinate with Process and Maintenance teams for shutdown planning.
• Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensure timely implementation of CAPA for process and quality deviations.
• Ensure billets consistently meet customer specifications for chemistry and grade.
• Prepare and control the annual SMS budget and monitor cost per ton of billet.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team while ensuring adequate manpower availability.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, IMS, SOP, and 5S requirements.
