About the Role
The Senior Associate Business Analyst owns the integrity of business and functional requirements from discovery through delivery. You will translate business problems into clear, testable specifications, align stakeholders and technical teams, and protect project value through disciplined scope and change management. The role connects requirements analysis, process modeling, documentation, testing, defect triage, stakeholder communication, and user enablement. Success means complete and traceable requirements, informed decisions, controlled dependencies, effective testing, and solutions that meet strategic business needs. You will support large-scale business or technical initiatives, including corporate functional transformations, while working across global teams and Agile or Waterfall delivery environments. Every tool, process, methodology, and responsibility described in the source job description is mandatory for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structured requirements sessions that capture functional and non-functional needs, align stakeholders to business objectives, and establish a reliable foundation for delivery decisions.
- Own business and functional requirements documentation, including approval, version control, traceability, consistency, and adherence to organizational standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze current processes, systems, workflows, dependencies, and constraints, then define future-state impacts that enable practical transformation and reduce delivery risk.
- Translate high-level needs into detailed functional specifications using process diagrams, prototypes, scenarios, quality attributes, interfaces, and other representations that improve shared understanding.
- Develop test cases and test plans from approved requirements, perform hands-on validation, support users through testing, and manage defect triage and enhancement decisions.
- Govern requirement changes by assessing impact, prioritizing trade-offs, maintaining traceability, and preventing uncontrolled scope expansion across interconnected projects and workstreams.
- Partner with Project Managers, Technical Leads, and global business teams to close communication gaps, provide progress visibility, coordinate dependencies, and deliver aligned solutions.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Strong requirements engineering capability, including stakeholder discovery, business and functional documentation, process modeling, scope definition, dependency analysis, traceability, and change control.
- Hands-on testing expertise covering test case design, testing documentation, user testing support, solution validation, defect triage, and enhancement management.
- Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, third-party software selection, reporting, data analysis, workflow documentation, and identifying patterns or trends.
- Advanced analytical and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information, model business needs, and explain the why and what to diverse audiences.
- Strong organization, prioritization, relationship-building, coordination, and problem-solving skills across multiple projects, stakeholders, and evolving workstreams.
Additional Plus
- Experience supporting large-scale, complex business or technical projects, including corporate functional transformations and cross-functional operating model change.
- Exposure to business administration, analytics, management, finance, information technology, data science, statistics, computer science, information systems, economics, or project management domains.
- Experience with user training and standardizing business processes to improve adoption, consistency, and measurable project outcomes.
What You'll Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in business-focused studies such as Administration, Analytics, Management, or Finance; data or technology studies such as Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or Information Systems; or a related field.
- 4-9 years of Business Analyst experience spanning requirements gathering, third-party software selection, reporting, data analysis, business process documentation, functional specifications, and testing.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects and workstreams while maintaining quality, delivery timelines, stakeholder alignment, and requirements integrity.
- Strong analytical judgment to interpret business needs, model processes, identify patterns, assess risks, and translate incomplete or changing information into actionable requirements.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the confidence to lead sessions, coordinate efforts, build relationships, simplify complexity, and bridge business and technical perspectives.
- Adaptability, resilience, attention to detail, and a proactive can-do mindset, with the independence to perform under pressure and shift priorities without losing focus on objectives.
