The GCC is designed to efficiently and innovatively scale client delivery teams to meet ongoing demands. It helps A&M’s global business units expand their talent pool in India, allowing them to hire specialised professionals, maintain competitive pricing, accelerate delivery speeds with a hybrid onshore‑offshore team, and leverage automation with top‑tier digital and analytics talent. The GCC blends industry and consulting professionals across multiple domains to drive change and add value.

Unlike traditional GCC models focused on back‑office support, we partner with case teams for end‑to‑end case delivery and thought leadership. The Team

Alvarez & Marsal’s GBS Advisory practice acts as trusted advisors providing practical solutions to the unique problems of companies, investors, and government entities. We focus on elevating the conversation with our clients as it relates to rebalancing their workforce, modernizing their operating models, and realizing greater ROI from their assets and capabilities, while also leveraging the power of Centres of Excellence. Our dedicated experts are a team of operator‑consultants who provide independent analysis and end‑to‑end transformation services delivering tangible business value in every economic cycle. We work with clients on target operating model design, process transformation, digital enablement, and transition execution across multiple corporate functions by combining the firm’s deep operational and finance expertise with technology‑led solutions to accelerate business growth and efficiency.

How you will contribute

As a member of the GBS Advisory team, you will work closely with Senior Directors, Managing Directors, and client leadership teams in a highly collaborative and impact‑driven environment. You will contribute to strategy development, operating model assessment, process benchmarking, transition execution, and digital transformation initiatives for leading global organisations.

Role

This is a unique opportunity to use your expertise in GBS set‑up, functional transformation, shared services migration, and process optimisation to drive large‑scale transformation programmes. Additionally, you will play a key role in business development, innovative solution design, and market expansion initiatives. Given our ambitious growth plans, we are looking for professionals who:

• Can work independently with minimal oversight while driving high‑impact projects.
• Have experience in leading consulting engagements across multiple industries and global markets.

The role can be based in Delhi NCR (Gurgaon) or Bengaluru, with potential for other locations. We welcome candidates who are flexible to travel on short notice (domestically or internationally). Travel requirements are still developing but could vary between 25‑50% of the time to the client site.

Key Skills Required

• Project Management & Execution: Ability to manage assigned workstreams of a large‑scale GCC/GBS project from planning to implementation.
• Process Improvement & Standardisation: Experience in functional process optimisation, SLA development, and benchmarking.
• Stakeholder & Client Collaboration: Strong communication skills for engaging with senior executives and functional leaders.
• Transition & Change Management: Expertise in shared services set‑up, workforce transition, and knowledge transfer frameworks.

Qualifications

• 6‑11 years of experience in consulting organisations (preferably Big4 or other consulting firms), specialising in GBS, GCC, and shared services set‑up, expansion, and optimisation.
• Led end‑to‑end GCC/GBS transformation projects, including shared services/GBS/GCC business‑case & strategy development, operating model design, and transition / implementation.
• Expertise in Target Operating Model (TOM) design and execution, covering governance frameworks, cost structures, and service delivery models (Insourcing, Outsourcing).
• Led multi‑functional transitions (Finance, HR, Procurement, IT, Legal), ensuring seamless service migration, knowledge transfer, and operational stabilisation.
• Strong experience in stakeholder management, including C‑suite engagement and client relationship management across global markets.
• Deep understanding of location strategy and feasibility assessments, including workforce planning, cost‑benefit analysis, and investment modelling.
• Proven track record in business development, including RFI / RFP responses, solutioning, and contract negotiations for GBS / GCC deals.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA from Tier‑1 institutes.
• Experience and knowledge of business functions (Finance, HR, IT, etc.).
