Job summary

Xbattery in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior BMS Firmware Developer to own embedded firmware for LVBMS/HVBMS, lead a firmware team, and drive protection and control algorithms from concept to release.

You will work on SOC, SOH, cell balancing, and fault management using Embedded C/C++ with RTOS/FreeRTOS, and you will debug with CAN tools, JTAG/SWD, and oscilloscopes. 5–7 years of hands-on BMS firmware experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level or higher in Electronics/Electrical/Embedded Systems or related engineering field.
• 5–7 years of experience in Embedded Firmware Development.
• Hands-on experience with LVBMS/HVBMS.
• Experience with embedded C and BMS protection algorithms.
• Familiarity with CAN/UART/SPI/I2C and ADCs.
• Bootloader and Firmware Upgrade experience.
• Experience with RTOS/FreeRTOS is preferred.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for LVBMS and HVBMS.
• Design and implement BMS protection and control algorithms.
• Work on SOC, SOH, cell balancing, monitoring and fault management.
• Develop firmware using Embedded C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, GPIO, Timers and Interrupts.
• Develop and maintain Bootloader and Firmware Upgrade mechanisms.
• Work with RTOS/FreeRTOS and develop reliable, non-blocking embedded software.
• Debug firmware and system-level issues using CAN tools, JTAG/SWD, oscilloscope and logic analyzer.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing and firmware validation.
• Analyze field/customer issues and identify root causes and permanent solutions.
• Take ownership of firmware modules from requirement to release.
• Guide and mentor junior/mid-level firmware engineers.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Testing and System teams for product development and validation.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior BMS Firmware Developer with strong experience in Embedded Firmware Development and BMS systems. The candidate should have hands‑on experience in LVBMS/HVBMS and should be capable of taking ownership of firmware development while guiding the firmware team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for LVBMS and HVBMS.
• Design and implement BMS protection and control algorithms.
• Work on SOC, SOH, cell balancing, current/voltage/temperature monitoring and fault management.
• Develop firmware using Embedded C/C++.
• Hands‑on experience with CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, GPIO, Timers and Interrupts.
• Develop and maintain Bootloader and Firmware Upgrade mechanisms.
• Work with RTOS/FreeRTOS and develop reliable, non‑blocking embedded software.

Required Skills

• 5–7 years of experience in Embedded Firmware Development.
• Strong hands‑on experience in LVBMS/HVBMS.
• Strong programming skills in Embedded C.
• Good understanding of BMS architecture and protection algorithms.
• Experience with CAN, UART, SPI, I2C and ADC.
• Experience in Bootloader and Firmware Upgrade.
• Experience with RTOS/FreeRTOS is preferred.
• Good debugging and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with Git, code review and static code analysis tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of MISRA‑C and ISO 26262 is an added advantage.
• Good communication, leadership and team‑guiding skills.
• Strong sense of ownership, responsibility and commitment to quality.

Preferred Experience

Experience in EV, Energy Storage Systems (ESS)products will be an added advantage.

Education

B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, Computer Science or related engineering field.
