Job summary

Valtech Bengaluru is seeking an Automation Engineer with 4+ years of software test automation experience. You will design, build, and maintain automation frameworks for web, mobile, API and desktop apps, and drive AI-powered testing adoption across projects.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of software test automation, with 2–3 years on AI-augmented testing tools.
• Strong programming in Python and/or Java.
• Hands‑on with Playwright, Selenium, Postman and cloud testing platforms.
• Experience with API testing tools and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks for web, mobile, API and desktop apps.
• Define end-to-end automation strategy for enterprise-scale apps.
• Adopt AI-powered testing tools to improve speed and coverage.
• Create scalable, reusable scripts in Playwright/Selenium with Python or Java.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Perform functional, regression, API, and end-to-end testing across streams.
• Analyze results, debug, and collaborate with developers and BAs to resolve defects.
• Maintain test metrics and dashboards for stakeholders; explore AI/ML-driven use cases.

Role & Responsibilities

• Strong hands-on expertise in designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and desktop applications
• Deep understanding of software testing lifecycle (STLC) and ability to define end-to-end automation strategy for enterprise-scale applications
• Drive adoption of AI-powered testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-based test generation/self-healing platforms) to improve testing speed and coverage
• Design and implement scalable, reusable automation scripts using Playwright/Selenium with Python or Java
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for continuous testing
• Perform functional, regression, API, and end-to-end automated testing across multiple application streams
• Analyze test results, debug failures, and collaborate closely with developers and business analysts to resolve defects
• Prepare and maintain test metrics, automation coverage reports, and dashboards for stakeholder visibility
• Explore and prototype AI/ML-driven testing use cases (e.g., predictive test selection, anomaly detection, intelligent test data generation)

Must Have

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: .

• 4–5 years of experience in software test automation, with at least 2–3 years working with AI-augmented testing tools
• Strong programming/scripting skills in Python and/or Java
• Hands‑on expertise with Playwright, Selenium, Postman, and cloud testing platforms (LambdaTest/BrowserStack)
• Working knowledge of AI Copilot tools and experience applying them within a testing/QA context
• Experience with API testing tools and frameworks (REST Assured, Postman, Swagger)
• Solid understanding of CI/CD tools and version control (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Note; Playwright tool / Python scripting Expert level, top class members with excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, enthusiastic and ability to learn quickly and contribute and grow.
