Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to ensure the quality of a digital banking platform. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, business analysts, and designers across the software development lifecycle to deliver high-quality software through manual and automation testing.

This hands-on role requires designing test strategies, building automation with Playwright, performing API testing, and continuously improving QA practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software quality assurance with strong manual and automation testing experience.
• Experience in Fintech/Digital banking/Banking-as-a-Service or payment platforms.
• Strong understanding of digital banking products and customer workflows.
• Hands-on automation development using Playwright.
• Strong API testing experience with Postman or similar tools.
• Experience using GitHub for defect tracking and collaboration.
• Working knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle management.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Self-driven and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Test planning and execution across web, mobile, and backend services.
• Analyse requirements to identify test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases.
• Validate customer journeys across web and mobile interfaces and APIs.
• Maintain requirement-to-test traceability and comprehensive coverage.
• Develop and maintain automated regression suites using Playwright; mobile automation with Maestro (preferred).
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
• Perform API testing and backend data validation using SQL.
• Identify, document, and track defects in GitHub; support backlog refinement and sprint planning.
• Collaborate with developers to improve testability and drive quality improvements.
• Analyze defect trends and contribute to QA process improvements.

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and stability of Digital banking platform. You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Designers throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver high-quality software that meets business, customer, and regulatory expectations.This is a hands-on role requiring both manual and automation testing. You will be expected to design test strategies, build automation, perform API testing, and continuously improve our quality engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Execution
• Analyse business requirements and user stories to identify test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases for functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate customer journeys across web applications, mobile applications, and backend services.
• Maintain requirement-to-test traceability and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Perform exploratory testing to identify usability and functional gaps.Test Automation
• Design, develop, and maintain automated regression test suites using Playwright.
• Contribute to mobile automation using Maestro (preferred).
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
• Continuously improve automation coverage and reduce manual testing effort.API & Backend Testing
• Perform API testing using Postman or equivalent tools.
• Validate REST APIs, request/response payloads, business rules, and error handling.
• Execute SQL queries to verify backend data integrity and validate business transactions.Quality Engineering
• Identify, document, and track defects using GitHub or equivalent tools.
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and sprint reviews to identify quality risks early.
• Collaborate closely with developers to improve application testability and overall product quality.
• Analyse defect trends and recommend preventive improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in QA processes, standards, and automation practices

SKILLS

Must have

• 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance with strong experience in both manual and automation testing.
• Experience working in a Fintech/Digital bank/Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) provider/Payment platform
• Strong understanding of digital banking products such as customer onboarding, identity verification, lending, deposits, payments, or customer servicing.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automation using Playwright.
• Strong API testing experience using Postman or similar tools.
• Experience using GitHub or similar tools for defect tracking and collaboration.
• Working knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle management.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across product, engineering, and business teams.
• Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced product environment.
