Job summary

Quess in Bengaluru, India is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with 6+ years in software testing. You will design and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and Python, and automate UI, API, regression, and end-to-end scenarios.

You will integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), work in Agile teams, and validate data with SQL while collaborating with developers and product teams.

Qualifications

6+ years of experience in QA and test automation.
Hands-on Playwright experience.
Strong Python programming skills.
Experience with API testing/automation.
Experience in CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with SQL/database testing.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum.
Familiarity with Jira/Zephyr/Xray.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright and Python.
Develop automated UI, functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end test cases.
Web app automation across multiple browsers and devices.
Develop and execute REST API automation/testing using Playwright API, Postman, or similar tools.
Validate API requests/responses, JSON/XML payloads, status codes, schemas, and authentication.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
Analyze automation failures, identify defects, perform root‑cause analysis, and support defect resolution.
Perform SQL/database validation to verify data integrity and backend processes.
Develop reusable automation components using PyTest/POM.
Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment with developers, QA, analysts, and product teams.
Manage defects and test execution using Jira, Xray, Zephyr, or Azure Test Plans.
Contribute to improving test coverage, automation efficiency, and quality engineering practices.
Exposure to AI-powered testing/GenAI testing tools is an added advantage.
