Job summary

Lend A Hand India is seeking a Senior Associate to strengthen teacher training and educator capability across vocational education contexts in Pune. The role blends design, delivery and field engagement to translate pedagogy into classroom practice.

The candidate will lead training delivery, mentor trainers, and support content development with a focus on practical, competency-based learning and ongoing program improvements. Regular travel to field sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, Human Resource Development, Vocational Education or a related field.
• B.Ed./M.Ed. or equivalent teacher-education qualification would be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of pedagogy and experiential learning as part of teacher development.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of teacher-training programmes, ToTs, Master Trainer programmes and educator-capability initiatives.
• Facilitate teacher and trainer training programmes using experiential, practical and competency-based approaches.
• Support development and refinement of training plans, session designs, facilitator guides, activities and assessment tools.
• Observe teachers/trainers during training and field implementation and provide constructive feedback.
• Mentor Master Trainers, trainers and teachers through mentoring, practice and reflection.
• Participate in field visits to understand challenges and support implementation.
• Capture field observations and feedback to improve training content and resources.
• Contribute to trainer selection, readiness assessment and refresher learning.

Position Overview:

To support the design, delivery and continuousimprovement of high-quality teacher-development programmes for schoolvocational education.

The role will combinetraining delivery, field engagement,trainer support, content development and implementation learning, with afocus on translating vocational education pedagogy into effective classroom andtraining practices. Key Responsibilities:

• Support the design and development of teacher-trainingprogrammes, ToTs, Master Trainer programmes and other educator-capabilityinitiatives.
• Facilitate teacher and trainer training programmes usingexperiential, practical and competency-based approaches.
• Support the development and refinement of training plans, sessiondesigns, facilitator guides, activities, practice exercises and assessmenttools.
• Observe teachers/trainers during training and fieldimplementation and provide specific, constructive feedback to improvefacilitation and classroom practice.
• Support Master Trainers, trainers and teachers through mentoring,practice, reflection and follow-up.
• Participate in field visits to schools, training sites andimplementation locations to understand challenges and supportimplementation.
• Capture field observations, participant feedback andimplementation experiences and convert them into improvements in training,content and resources.
• Support the development and use of tools for trainer selection,readiness assessment, observation, feedback and refresher learning.
• Contribute to building and strengthening trainer pools and supportingcascade-training processes.
• Adapt training approaches and resources to different curricula,learner/teacher contexts, languages and implementation settings.
• Work closely with the Training, Content and Quality Assuranceteams to ensure that training focuses on capability and application ratherthan attendance alone.
• Engage with teachers, Vocational Trainers, Master Trainers andother education stakeholders to understand their needs and identify areasfor capacity building.
• Contribute to documentation of effective practices and lessonsfrom the field for wider use across programmes.
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of experienceinteacher training, teaching, adult learning, educator development or arelated field.
  
• Experience inskill education/vocational educationwouldbe strongly preferred.
  
• Experienced teachers, Vocational Trainers or trainers with astrong understanding ofpedagogy and experiential learningmayalso be considered.
  
• Demonstrated experience in facilitating teacher/trainer trainingor professional development programs.
  
• Understanding ofpractical, experiential andcompetency-based learning approaches.
  
• Ability to observe classroom/training practice and providemeaningful, actionable feedback.
  
• Ability to understand new curricula quickly, pedagogicalapproaches and program requirements.
  
• Strong communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  
• Comfortable withregular travel to schools, trainingsites and field locations.
  
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely withTraining, Content and other teams.
  
• Experience working with government education systems, NGOs orlarge-scale education programs would be an advantage
  

Educational Background:
