Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a Purchase Engineer in Bangalore to join the Supply Chain Management team.

You will procure engineering plastics, polymers and tooling, identify and qualify vendors, and manage quotations and contracts to ensure smooth material flow for injection molding operations. The role requires 4–8 years in procurement within plastics/manufacturing, with ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) and a strong understanding of BOMs and drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in mechanical/production/polymer/industrial engineering or related field.
• 4–8 years of procurement or purchase engineering experience, preferably in injection molding/plastics/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Procure raw materials such as engineering plastics, polymers, masterbatches, additives, packaging materials and consumables.
• Purchase injection molding related items including molds, dies, hot runner components, heaters, thermocouples, nozzles, machine spares, hydraulic and pneumatic parts.
• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable vendors for technical and non-technical purchases.
• Obtain quotations, compare prices, analyze terms, and prepare comparative statements.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and annual rate contracts with suppliers.
• Understand BOMs, technical drawings, material specs and process requirements for molded components.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, tooling, quality and design teams to understand purchase requirements.
• Support inventory optimization and reduction of non-moving items.
• Generate purchase requisitions, purchase orders and maintain procurement records.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements.
• Maintain records of contracts, supplier agreements, technical documents and certifications.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in automotive tier 1 company particularly in purchasing polymer raw materials, molds, tooling, and machine spares.
• Familiarity with injection molding processes, mold components, and plastic part manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar procurement software.
• Exposure to vendor development and technical sourcing.
