The Job:
As a Purchase Engineer, you’ll be part of our Supply Chain Management team and will be reporting to SCM Head.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure raw materials such as engineering plastics, polymers, masterbatches, additives, packaging materials, and consumables.
- Purchase injection molding-related items including molds, dies, hot runner components, heaters, thermocouples, nozzles, machine spares, hydraulic and pneumatic parts.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors for technical and non-technical purchases.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, analyze commercial terms, and prepare comparative statements.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and annual rate contracts with suppliers.
- Understand BOMs, technical drawings, material specifications, and process requirements for molded components.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, tooling, quality, and design teams to understand purchase requirements.
- Support inventory optimization and reduction of non-moving or slow-moving items.
- Generate purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and maintain procurement records.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and audit requirements.
- Maintain records of contracts, supplier agreements, technical documents, and certifications.

You also have:
- Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in mechanical engineering, Production Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 4–8 years of experience in procurement or purchase engineering, preferably in an injection molding, plastics, or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in automotive tier 1 company particularly in purchasing polymer raw materials, molds, tooling, and machine spares.
- Familiarity with injection molding processes, mold components, and plastic part manufacturing.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar procurement software.
- Exposure to vendor development and technical sourcing.
