Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Purchasing Specialist - PLM Sourcing to support New Product Introduction and Continuation sourcing activities. You will ensure accurate SAP master data, part costing, and PO readiness while collaborating with suppliers to resolve discrepancies and mitigate supply chain risk.

The role requires 1+ year in purchasing/sourcing, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP. This position is based in Bengaluru with hybrid work options and exposure to Power BI

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electronics or other relevant engineering disciplines.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or a related function.
• Demonstrated understanding of MRP, inventory, and production principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Extend part numbers to the plants in SAP and maintain costing data to enable purchase orders.
• Convert shopping cart requisitions into purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for acknowledgements.
• Collaborate with department partners to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely goods receipts.
• Support LTB and E&O activities and assist with BOM reviews for cost optimization.
• Perform RFQs, BOM reviews, and PLM buyer tasks to support project sourcing.
• Use SAP and ERP systems to analyze supply chain data for reporting and decision making.
• Participate in PLM team activities and support cross-functional collaboration across sourcing, engineering, suppliers, and departments.

Job Description

A Day in the Life Summary As a Purchasing Specialist - PLM Sourcing, support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuation projects. Ensure accurate SAP master data setup, part costing, purchase order readiness, supplier follow-up. Support Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) sourcing activities, Last Time Buy (LTB), Excess & Obsolete (E&O) processes, BOM reviews, and supply chain risk mitigation.

Major Responsibilities

Support NPI and Continuation sourcing activities by ensuring accurate purchasing master data, costing, and purchase order readiness. Manage the conversion of Shopping Carts to Purchase Orders and oversee the entire end-to-end process. Collaborate with suppliers and Your department partners to resolve invoice discrepancies. Support LTB Coordinator with LTB and E&O activities. Perform RFQ, BOM risk review, and PLM buyer‑related activities to help manage supply chain risk and lead process improvements. Use SAP, Excel, Power BI, and other business systems to analyze data, prepare reports, and support informed sourcing and supply chain decisions.

Your Responsibilities

• Extend part numbers to the plants in SAP. Ensure costing of parts by maintaining material master, Purchasing Info Records (PIRs), Source list, and Quality Info Records (QIRs). This facilitates the placement of purchase orders. Occasionally maintain serial pricing in SAP.
• Ensure that someone costs parts promptly and add eligible cost‑rolled parts to contracts or Master Parts List.
• Convert shopping cart requisitions into purchase orders, follow up with suppliers for order acknowledgements, and coordinate with department partners to complete goods receipts.
• Collaborate with suppliers, department partners, and teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and purchasing‑related issues.
• Support ERP data accuracy by identifying issues related to supplier lead times, on‑time delivery, and purchasing master data.
• Be as proxy for the LTB Coordinator by managing Last Time Buy (LTB) activities and follow‑ups. Additionally, support Excess and Obsolete (E&O) processes. Contribute to continuous improvement activities for this process.
• Assist Sourcing Project Managers by performing RFQs, BOM reviews for projects, and other tasks related to the PLM Buyer role, as preparation for future responsibilities.
• Perform BOM reviews to identify cost optimization opportunities and mitigate part and supplier risks. These reviews also promote preferred supplier usage and provide supply chain risk assessments related to obsolescence, delivery, currency, logistics, geopolitical factors, and other business impacts.
• Use SAP and other enterprise systems to analyze supply chain data for management reviews, productivity improvement, and process optimization.
• Participate in PLM team activities and support collaboration across sourcing, engineering, suppliers, and department partners.
• Follow all Rockwell Automation procedures.

The Essentials - You Will Have

• Batchlor's Degree in Mechanical, Electronics or other relevant engineering disciplines.
• Minimum 1+Years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or a related function.
• Demonstrated understanding of MRP, inventory, and production principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have

• SAP experience is advantage.
• Power BI development is an advantage
• We desire New Product Introduction (NPI) purchasing or sourcing experience.
