Job summary

Apex Group in Gujarat, India, seeks a skilled Lease Accounting professional to join our finance team. You will manage end-to-end lease accounting, AR/AP/GL, rent invoicing, and month-end close, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to our clients.

With 3–5 years in lease or real estate accounting, you will work with Yardi/MRI, advance Excel, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive improvements while upholding internal controls and SLAs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in lease or real estate accounting.
• Strong knowledge of AR, AP, GL, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Understanding of US lease accounting practices.
• Experience with property accounting systems (Yardi, MRI).
• Strong month-end close and reconciliation experience.
• Advanced Excel: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis.
• Analytical mindset with stakeholder management and problem solving.
• Experience supporting team members and client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end lease accounting activities, including AR, AP, and GL.
• Process tenant billing, rent invoicing, cash applications, vendor invoices, and payments.
• Monitor AR aging and resolve outstanding balances.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, deferrals, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities.
• Prepare rent rolls, lease schedules, financial statements, and variance analysis reports.
• Respond to client, auditor, and stakeholder queries and support audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, SLAs, internal controls, and accounting policies.
• Drive process improvements, quality reviews, and automation initiatives.
• Manage assigned portfolios and ensure timely, accurate delivery of accounting services.

Key Responsibilities

• Understanding of US Real Estate Accounting and Lease Accounting.
• Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar property accounting systems.
• Strong month-end close and reconciliation experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience reviewing work, supporting team members, and managing client interactions.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of lease administration and commercial real estate processes.
• Experience reviewing lease documents and resolving accounting exceptions.
• Exposure to international clients and SLA-driven delivery environments.
