Job summary

RSP India in Chennai is seeking a Senior Associate – Architecture with 10–15 years of experience to lead large-scale Residential, Commercial and Mixed-Use projects from concept to execution.

The candidate will oversee design delivery, coordinate with clients and consultants, and guide teams to ensure high-quality design and timely project delivery. Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required, with BIM coordination experience considered an advantage.

Qualifications

• COA registration preferred; additional BIM qualifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Associate – Architecture to join our Chennai office. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in handling large-scale Residential, Commercial and Mixed-Use projects from concept design through design development, documentation and project execution.

The candidate will be responsible for leading project teams, managing design delivery, coordinating with clients and consultants, and ensuring that projects are delivered with high standards of design quality, technical excellence and timely execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale residential, commercial and mixed-use architectural projects from concept to completion.


• Develop design concepts, design development, presentations and detailed architectural documentation.


• Lead the project team and provide design and technical direction to Architects, Senior Architects and junior team members.


• Manage multiple project stages and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.


• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.


• Lead multidisciplinary coordination with Structural, MEP, Landscape, Interior and other consultants.


• Review and approve architectural drawings, specifications, details and construction documentation.


• Ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.


• Conduct design reviews and provide solutions to complex architectural and technical issues.


• Participate in client presentations, project meetings and design discussions.


• Undertake site visits and coordinate with site teams to resolve design and technical issues.


• Ensure compliance with applicable building bye-laws, development regulations, codes and statutory requirements.


• Support project planning, resource allocation and team management.


• Monitor project quality, deliverables, timelines and coordination requirements.


• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a strong design and collaborative culture.


• Contribute to design innovation, sustainable design strategies and value engineering.


• Ensure adherence to the firm's design standards, BIM standards and documentation procedures.

Project Experience Required

The candidate should have demonstrated experience in handling large-scale projects in one or more of the following sectors:

• Residential: High-rise residential developments, apartments, townships and large residential communities.


• Commercial: Office developments, corporate campuses, IT/ITES buildings, business parks and large commercial developments.


• Mixed-Use: Large integrated developments combining residential, commercial, retail, hospitality and other uses.


• Experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams will be highly preferred.

Qualification

• B.Arch / M.Arch from a recognized institution.


• COA Registration is preferred.


• Additional qualifications in Project Management, BIM or related fields will be an advantage.

Experience

• 10–15 years of relevant experience in architectural design and project delivery.


• Proven experience in handling large-scale Residential, Commercial and Mixed-Use projects.


• Experience in leading architectural teams and coordinating with multidisciplinary consultants.


• Strong exposure to client management and project delivery is preferred.

Software & Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.


• Good understanding of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.


• Knowledge of Navisworks and other BIM coordination tools will be an advantage.


• Strong knowledge of architectural detailing, construction documentation and building systems.


• Good understanding of applicable building codes, regulations and statutory requirements.
