Job summary

Beyond Border Consultants in India is seeking an experienced Apparel Merchandiser to lead end-to-end merchandising for global clients, from line planning to bulk production and shipment coordination.

You will manage vendor relationships across Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh, ensure TSS, AQL quality, costing benchmarks, and on-time delivery, while collaborating with design, quality, logistics and finance teams.

Qualifications

• Apparel merchandising experience.
• Vendor management experience.
• Preparation of TSS and product specs.
• Ability to analyze costing and margins.
• Experience with quality control (AQL).
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).
• Strong Excel skills for dashboards and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end merchandising for key global clients, from line planning to bulk production and shipment coordination.
• Manage and optimize vendor relationships across tier-1 and tier-2 units in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh.
• Ensure adherence to technical specifications, costing benchmarks, quality benchmarks (AQL), and delivery timelines across categories.
• Conduct pre-production, in-line, and final inspections; resolve quality deviations with factory teams and buyers.
• Prepare and present merchandising reports including line item costing, margin tracking, capacity planning, and vendor dashboards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality, logistics, and finance to align production with buyer expectations.

About the Opportunity

A fast-growing retail and apparel sourcing consultancy operating across India and South Asia, we partner with global brands to design, develop, and deliver high-quality, cost-efficient apparel and lifestyle products. Our merchandising team acts as the critical bridge between international buyers and Indian manufacturing ecosystems—ensuring speed, compliance, quality, and margin optimization across categories like denim, knits, wovens, and accessories.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end merchandising for key global clients—from seasonal line planning to sample development, bulk production, and shipment coordination.


• Manage and optimize vendor relationships across tier-1 and tier-2 manufacturing units in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh.


• Ensure adherence to technical specifications, costing benchmarks, quality benchmarks (AQL), and delivery timelines across all product categories.


• Conduct pre-production, in-line, and final inspections; resolve quality deviations with factory teams and buyers proactively.


• Prepare and present merchandising reports including line item costing, margin tracking, capacity planning, and vendor performance dashboards.


• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality, logistics, and finance to align production with buyer expectations and commercial targets.
