About The Role
We are looking for a ‘Bulk Merchandiser - Western wear’ who will be responsible for managing day-to-day garment and raw material sourcing and merchandising efforts in the Western wear category.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Create and manage TNA and delivery timelines with buyers, raw material suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers
- Follow up on orders with vendors, customers, and internal parties to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery
- Create and maintain strong business relationships with vendors for product development and bulk manufacturing
- Negotiate with vendors on costs and payment terms and maintain strong SLAs
- Assist in product development with factory mills. Maintain up-to-date mill history and capability
- Maintain performance registry of vendors and constantly seek improvements in timelines, quality, and costs
- Identify problems along the supply chain to understand and develop solutions to brands’, suppliers’, and manufacturers’ pain points
- Drive secondary research, competitive analysis, and sift through data to develop sourcing strategy
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing, product development, and merchandising roles in large buying houses, Western wear brands, manufacturers, or similar startups
- Educational background - NIFT (top 5) or equivalent
- Deep understanding of and existing network in the Western wear category
- Strong business and problem-solving acumen; possess an analytical mind
- Understanding of product development lifecycle and frameworks
- Open to work in all conditions (client offices or factory floors) and with all stakeholders
- Very strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability for solutioning through data-led interventions and a product-first approach
