Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end apparel merchandising and product development.
• Coordinate with buyers, designers, suppliers, and manufacturers.
• Develop new styles, fabrics, trims, and samples as per market needs.
• Prepare and negotiate costing, quotations, and prices with vendors.
• Source fabrics, accessories, trims, and finished apparel from suppliers.
• Coordinate sampling, fit approvals, size sets, and pre-production activities.
• Follow up on purchase orders and production schedules.
• Monitor production progress and ensure on‑time delivery.
• Conduct quality checks and coordinate defect resolution with Quality team.
• Track development from concept to final delivery; maintain vendor records.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Apparel Merchandiser responsible for product development, sourcing, vendor coordination, costing, order follow-up, and ensuring timely delivery of quality apparel as per business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end apparel merchandising and product development.
• Coordinate with buyers, designers, suppliers, and manufacturers for product development.
• Develop new styles, collections, fabrics, trims, and samples as per market requirements.
• Prepare and negotiate costing, quotations, and product prices with vendors.
• Source fabrics, accessories, trims, and finished apparel from suitable suppliers.
• Coordinate sampling, fit approvals, size sets, and pre-production activities.
• Follow up on purchase orders and production schedules.
• Monitor production progress and ensure on-time delivery.
• Conduct regular quality checks and coordinate with the Quality team for defect resolution.
• Track product development from concept to final delivery.
• Maintain vendor records, order sheets, T&A calendars, and merchandising reports.
• Analyse market trends, competitor products, pricing, fabrics, colours, and consumer preferences.
• Ensure products meet required quality, cost, design, and delivery standards.
• Resolve production, quality, sourcing, and delivery-related issues with vendors.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of apparel, fabrics, garment construction, and sourcing.
• Good understanding of apparel costing and vendor negotiation.
• Strong vendor management and follow-up skills.
• Knowledge of T&A, sampling, production planning, and quality control.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and merchandising software/tools.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple styles/orders simultaneously.

Educational Qualification

• Graduate / Diploma in Textile, Apparel, Fashion, Merchandising, or related field.
• Fashion/Textile Management qualification will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate

• Candidates with experience in Retail, Apparel, Textile, Buying House, or Garment Manufacturing preferred.
• Experience in handling private-label / retail apparel buying and sourcing will be an advantage.
