Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end HR statutory compliance activities related to payroll and employee benefits.
• Handle PF/EPF compliance, including data validation, ECR filing, challans, remittances, and reconciliation.
• Manage ESIC compliance, including contribution calculations, filings, payments, and employee-related queries.
• Handle PT, Labour Welfare Fund, gratuity, statutory bonus, and other labour-law requirements.
• Ensure timely statutory payments, returns, filings, and maintenance of compliance records.
• Reconcile payroll data with statutory contributions and investigate discrepancies.
• Support internal and external statutory audits by maintaining documentation and schedules.
• Coordinate with payroll, HR operations, finance, vendors, and authorities to resolve issues.
• Manage employee queries relating to PF, UAN, KYC, transfers, withdrawals, settlements, and other statutory matters.
• Monitor changes in labour laws and implement required changes.
• Assist in responding to statutory notices, inspections, audits, and other compliance requirements.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient Senior Analyst HR Statutory Compliance to manage end-to-end statutory compliance activities related to payroll and employee benefits. The role requires hands-on experience in statutory filings, contributions, reconciliations, regulatory documentation, and employee-related compliance matters while ensuring adherence to applicable labour laws and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end HR statutory compliance activities related to payroll and employee benefits.
• Handle Provident Fund (PF/EPF) compliance, including monthly data validation, ECR preparation and filing, challan generation, remittances, and reconciliation.
• Manage Employee State Insurance (ESIC) compliance, including contribution calculations, filings, payments, and employee-related queries.
• Handle statutory requirements related to Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), gratuity, statutory bonus, and other applicable labour laws.
• Ensure timely and accurate statutory payments, returns, filings, and maintenance of compliance records.
• Reconcile payroll data with statutory contributions and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
• Support internal and external statutory audits by maintaining relevant documentation, records, and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate with payroll, HR operations, finance, vendors, and relevant statutory authorities to resolve compliance-related issues.
• Manage employee queries relating to PF, UAN, KYC, transfers, withdrawals, settlements, and other statutory matters.
• Monitor changes in applicable labour laws and statutory regulations and support implementation of required changes.
• Assist in responding to statutory notices, inspections, audits, and other compliance-related requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in HR statutory compliance, payroll compliance, or HR operations with a strong statutory compliance focus.
• Hands-on experience in end-to-end PF and ESIC compliance processes.
• Strong knowledge of EPFO processes, ECR filing, PF challans, statutory remittances, and reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, gratuity, statutory bonus, and other applicable labour legislation.
• Experience in statutory audits, documentation, compliance reporting, and maintaining statutory records.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple compliance activities while meeting strict statutory deadlines.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll or HR systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on statutory compliance professional who personally executes and manages payroll-linked compliance activities rather than working exclusively in general HR, talent acquisition, employee relations, or compliance oversight.

Candidates from MNCs, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), Big Four firms, financial services organisations, payroll service providers, and HR compliance consulting firms with relevant end-to-end statutory compliance experience would be suitable.
