Job summary

LANXESS Deutschland GmbH in Thane, India is seeking an Application Management Specialist responsible for governance and lifecycle management of the enterprise application portfolio, coordinating packaging requests with external providers and aligning with the Device Management team for deployment.

The role also owns managing the Azure Virtual Desktop environment, ensuring SLAs and contractual obligations are met, contributing to business continuity and a cloud-first workplace strategy.

Qualifications

• IT graduate with at least 6+ years in IT roles.
• Experience in application lifecycle management and portfolio governance.
• Proven experience with IT service provider management and SLAs.
• Knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) / VDI technologies and ITIL-based change/incident processes.

Responsibilities

• Govern enterprise application lifecycle, version control, compliance, and portfolio governance.
• Coordinate application packaging vendors, requirements, deliverables, SLAs, and deployment handovers.
• Oversee Azure Virtual Desktop configurations, performance, availability, and security.
• Manage external service providers, SLAs, service quality, escalations, and contractual compliance.
• Drive process improvements, documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Ensure IT service delivery, incident resolution, KPI reporting, and continuous service improvement.
• Assess infrastructure requirements, support team development, and knowledge transfer.
• Enhance digital employee experience using relevant tooling.

Job Highlights

The Application Management Specialist is responsible for the governance and lifecycle management of the company's enterprise application portfolio. The role coordinates and steers all application packaging requests with the external packaging service provider, acting as the primary interface to ensure timely, quality-compliant delivery and alignment with the Device Management team for deployment.

In addition, the position owns the management and steering of the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment, working in close collaboration with an external service provider who handles the technical implementation. The role ensures contractual obligations, SLAs, and quality standards are consistently met.

The position contributes directly to business continuity, end-user productivity, and the company's cloud-first workplace strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise application lifecycle, version control, compliance, and portfolio governance.

• Coordinate application packaging vendors, requirements, deliverables, SLAs, and deployment handovers.

• Oversee Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) configurations, performance, availability, and security.

• Manage external service providers, SLAs, service quality, escalations, and contractual compliance.

• Drive process improvements, documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

• Ensure IT service delivery, incident resolution, KPI reporting, and continuous service improvement.

• Assess infrastructure requirements, manage knowledge transfer, and support team development.

• Enhance digital employee experience using Nexthink, Systrack, or similar tools.

• Manage vendor relationships, negotiations, and coordination with Procurement, Legal, and Compliance.
