Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience; solar/renewable energy exposure is a major plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• Equivalent professional accounting designation is a strong asset.
• Advanced MS Excel and accounting software experience (QB, NetSuite, SAP or Tally).
• Strong analytical skills and tight month-end closing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• 1. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• 2. General Ledger Management: Oversee AP, AR, and payroll reconciliation.
• 3. Tax & Compliance: Handle corporate taxes, GST/sales tax, and regulatory compliance.
• 4. Project & Inventory Accounting: Track project costs and solar inventory/supply chain expenses.
• 5. Audit Preparation: Maintain records and assist external auditors during reviews.
• 6. Cash Flow Tracking: Monitor cash positions and assist with budget variance analysis.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior accountant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure financial compliance, and provide critical data to support our business growth. While general corporate accounting expertise is required, prior experience in the solar, renewable energy, or construction industries is highly preferred and will give you a significant advantage.

Core Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

2. General Ledger Management: Oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll reconciliation.

3. Tax & Compliance: Handle timely filing of corporate taxes, GST/sales tax, and regulatory compliance.

4. Project & Inventory Accounting: Track project-based costs, milestone billing, and solar inventory/supply chain expenses.

5. Audit Preparation: Maintain pristine financial records and assist external auditors during annual reviews.

6. Cash Flow Tracking: Monitor daily cash positions and assist leadership with budget variance analysis.

Requirements & Qualifications

1. Industry Edge: Strongly Preferred: 3 Years Mandatory Experience and experience working with solar developers is major plus, EPC contractors, or renewable energy companies (familiarity with solar tax credits, project costing, or utility billing is a major plus).

2. Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

3. Credentials: Equivalent professional accounting designation is a strong asset.

4. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Tally).

5. Competencies: Strong analytical skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to manage tight month-end closing deadlines.
