Job summary

Varroc in India seeks a seasoned Program Manager to act as the primary contact for customers, drive multi-department program execution from kickoff to SOP+3 months, and lead a team of program managers to meet delivery targets.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in automotive program management, with at least 5 years leading teams handling OEM programs, and experience with APQP, PLM systems, and manufacturing processes. This role requires relocation to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering with automotive program management experience.

• Exposure to Automotive components and manufacturing processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution of program development following PM processes and gates.
• Ensure Gates adherence and monitor quality, cost, and delivery.
• Collaborate with engineering and stakeholders to resolve issues and zero escalations.
• Support RFQ/Finance to track business case progress and cost optimization.
• Lead kickoff meetings and secure budget approvals for timelines.
• Handover to series production after Gate 5.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE

Act as a primary point of contact for customers and facilitate optimization of costs, quality and timelines of range of programs by integrating and resolving inter program dependencies and deliverables and ensures achievement of program delivery from program kick-off to SOP+3 months. Lead a team of Program managers in order to meet customer deliverables and represent Program segment during internal as well as customer reviews.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Drive execution and ensure timely completion of program development as per Program management process and following the PLM Gate structure.
• Ensuring all the CFT members are following PLM Gates and following the program on the parameters of Quality, cost and Delivery
• Ensure adherence to timelines decided in concurrence with R&D, testing, CD, Tooling, Design Validation, ME, QA and escalate to management as a red alert.
• Collaborate with an engineering team and other key stakeholders to address issues that arise during and after SOP to ensure zero customer escalations.
• Supporting the RFQ/Finance team in tracking the Business case progress Gate wise and following up actions to reduce BOM cost and other investments/expenditures in order to have commercials meeting Business case at the time of award.
• Lead the Program Kick Off meetings with all the departments and ensure that targets are followed up during the development phase.
• Obtain management approval budget and coordinate with ME, CD, QA to define & plan a timeline & tracking of its progress.
• Support Launch team in order to ensure Green Launch of the programs and no issues at the time of PPAP, SOP and ramp up phase.
• Closing Gate 5 as per the requirement and handover the program to the series production team.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION

Bachelor of Engineering with experience in automotive program management (Additional ME / M.Tech / Business Administration / Program Management qualification is preferred)

Work Experience / Exposure

• 15+ years of total experience in the automotive / Tier 1 auto components Industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in program management directly managing customer OEMs and managing a team for execution of programs.
• Exposure to Automotive Metallic Components [Engine / Transmission / Precession] & its Manufacturing Processes [Forging / Casting / Heat Treatment etc..] will be an added advantage

Technical skills required

• APQP / Program management process and documentation knowledge
• Working knowledge of program/project management software like PLM Windchill, MS Project etc.
• Expert level knowledge of PERT Charts, GANNT Charts, decision tree and cause effect diagram
• Expert level knowledge of program gate tracking systems
• SWOT analysis expertise
• Quality system application knowledge of Quality management system, IATF audit, OEM specific audits
