The Senior Program Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering key programs/projects within the Business Unit. This role requires coordinating across departments, managing complex projects, and ensuring programs are delivered on time, within budget, and with optimal resource utilization while mitigating risks and adhering to quality standards. The position also entails ensuring compliance with customer contracts and obligations, interpreting and implementing them effectively. Additionally, this role is expected to evolve into a leadership position in Business Development or Operations within 4–5 years.

Educational Qualification / Experience required

  • Over 15 years of experience in program management, preferably in manufacturing, with exposure to at least two core functions.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in program management tools and methodologies.

Indicative activities

1. Develop Program Strategies, Scope, Goals, and Deliverables

  • Design program strategies and goals in collaboration with senior leadership based on organizational priorities.
  • Create detailed program roadmaps and timelines, aligning them with customer and business goals.
  • Develop program planning and management systems to manage multiple parallel projects effectively.
  • Conduct regular strategic reviews to assess program alignment with changing business needs.
  • Set performance benchmarks and KPIs to measure program success.

2. Ensure Effective Planning and Resource Allocation

  • Acknowledge receipt of customer purchase orders and share program plans with deliverables.
  • Review contract requirements for alignment with customer expectations and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines in line with program objectives.
  • Conduct cross-functional team meetings with product engineering, process engineering, planning, and SCM teams to align expectations and prepare for project launch.
  • Ensure readiness of resources and facilities across projects, including compliance with EHS and information security standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

3. Oversee Execution and Delivery of Programs

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of project plans, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure that timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings with project teams to track progress and address challenges.
  • Ensure that program deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet required quality standards.
  • Coordinate smooth handoffs between project phases and teams.

4. Identify and Mitigate Program Risks

  • Conduct risk assessments at the beginning of each program to identify potential challenges.
  • Monitor program performance metrics to detect early warning signs of risks or issues.
  • Adjust program plans proactively to minimize risks and maintain project objectives.
  • Communicate risks and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.

5. Engage and Manage Stakeholders

  • Manage relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Provide regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalations, resolving concerns promptly.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through regular interactions and day-to-day relationship management.

6. Manage Program Budgets and Financial Performance

  • Take ownership of program P&L, ensuring financial goals are met, including margins, inventory optimization, and EBITDA targets.
  • Manage program budgets to meet all financial objectives, ensuring adherence to cost constraints and profitability metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with customer contracts and obligations, interpreting and implementing contractual requirements effectively.

7. Monitor and Report Program Performance

  • Conduct frequent project reviews and provide detailed dashboards on program health.
  • Highlight progress, risks, and opportunities for improvement in reports shared with senior management.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability across all program phases.
  • Knowledge of Products (e.g., Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems & Electro-Mechanical Integration)
  • Knowledge of Project Management (Planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of complex programs, including risk identification and mitigation, and APQP for manufacturing excellence)
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems (Understanding and application of quality assurance processes, compliance standards, and ISO/regulatory requirements, supporting APQP goals)
  • Business & Commercial Acumen (Understanding market dynamics, customer needs, profitability, and strategic decision-making)
  • Basic P&L Knowledge (Understanding program profitability, revenue generation, and cost structure management to support financial goals)
  • Knowledge of Budgeting and Costing (Developing accurate budgets, optimizing resources, controlling costs, and aligning financial goals with program deliverables)
  • Knowledge of Systems (Proficiency in ERP systems like SAP and tools for project tracking, costing, and customer relationship management to enhance operational efficiency)
  • Knowledge of Managing International Customers (Cross-cultural communication, global customer relationship management, and understanding international procurement policies and market dynamics)
