Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy is seeking an instrumentation professional to specify field instruments and oversee site erection, commissioning of PLC/DCS, and control systems. You will drive cost reductions via in-house repairs and ensure calibration schedules and safety compliance across projects.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, leadership to coordinate cross-functional teams, and familiarity with SAP maintenance modules. A strong focus on safety and timely execution is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting field instrumentation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety systems including LOTOTO and permit-based work.
• Ability to lead maintenance teams and coordinate cross-functionally.
• Experience with calibration, preventive maintenance, and instrumentation safety.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate detailed specifications for field instruments (level, flow, pressure, temperature, weighing) and prepare tender specs for electrical items.
• Support site execution activities involving erection and commissioning of field instruments, PLC, DCS and control systems.
• Initiatives to reduce instrument maintenance cost with in-house repair and calibration.
• Ensure calibration and preventive maintenance schedules for instruments and control systems are implemented.
• Hands-on maintenance experience of field instruments, weighing systems, PLC, DCS and automation systems.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and mandatory instrumentation requirements.
• Support safety audits and assist electrical team in energy-saving projects.
• Test control and automation systems before site installation.
• Ensure effective site management and discipline for safe, timely project execution.
• Install and commission equipment and conduct plant trial runs to meet performance/quality/quantity targets and hand over the plant.

Role & responsibilities:

• Facilitating detailed specifications of all types of field instruments (level, flow, pressure, temperature, weighing) and preparing tender specifications, which are essential for procuring electrical items for projects or running plants.
• Facilitating site execution activities involving erection & commissioning of field Instruments, PLC, DCS and control systems etc.
• Initiatives to reduce Instrument maintenance cost with inhouse repairing and calibration.
• Ensure implementation of Calibration and preventive maintenance schedule of Instruments and control systems.
• Hands on experience of maintenance of Field Instruments, weighing systems PLC, DCS and automation systems.
• Compliance of statutory and mandatory requirements related to Instrumentation.
• Compliance of safety audits and help electrical team to implement energy saving projects.
• Testing of control and automation systems prior to installation at site.
• Ensuring effective site management and discipline to ensure safe & timely execution of the projects.
• Installing and commissioning of equipments, followed by plant trial runs meeting targeted performance / quality & quantity parameters and thereafter handing over of the plant

Preferred candidate profile:

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintenance best practices

• Capable of leading teams and coordinating with cross-functional departments
• SAP maintenance module experience preferred
