Job summary

Responsibilities include prioritizing shifts, supporting day-to-day technical issues, and maintaining instrumentation inventory, with focus on ABB/Siemens systems and Honeywell alarms.

Qualifications

• Hands on experience with monitoring & measuring instrumentation (Level, Flow, Temp, Pressure, Weighing).
• Experience with ABB 800xA DCS Platform & PLC systems; logic development and troubleshooting.
• Maintenance and calibration of field instruments; calibration schedules.
• LOTO procedures and safety compliance in maintenance activities.
• Vendor coordination for material, services and AMC-related tasks.

Job description

Daily Activities

• Prioritizing jobs to be done in the General shift and allotting work to operators in the Plant engineering department.
• Guiding / supporting technicians onday-to-daytechnical issues.
• Arranging for the spares required during the shift to attend to breakdown problems andmaintainingthe spares inventory.
• Meeting personnel of user departments to discuss and prepareappropriate actionplans for problems of a repetitive nature and for jobs that require general shiftmanpowersupport.
• Conducting inspection of engineering stores inward material.
• Acknowledging breakdown intimations over phone from other departments and initiating work allotment through shift engineers or contractworkmen. Responsible for conduct of LOTO procedure
• Contacting and coordinating with Service contract persons coming under the “Annual Maintenance Contract” for certain machinery / equipment.
• Floating inquiries, gathering quotations, andinitiatingPO
• Brief description of knowledge and skillsrequired.
• Hands on experience of various type of monitoring & measuring instrumentation. (Level, Flow, Temperature, Pressure, Weighing system)
• Hands on experience of ABB 800xA DCS Platform & PLC (AB, Siemens) system. Logic development, Software trouble shooting, Graphic development, Alarm, event, trend & Report configuration. Logic development in FBD, ST, SFC, Ladder logic. Supporting new automation initiatives at Plant (e.g., local communication, Enterprise Asset Management, Efficiency improvement tools etc)
• Basic understanding of communication topology or network. Checking the health of the communication topology (Profibus DP & ProfNet) and taking necessary actions.
• Well experienced in maintenance,troubleshooting & calibration of field instruments.
• Maintenance schedulepreparation forall critical process control & monitoring system (DCS, PLC & FieldInstrument) and ensure the proper andtimelymaintenance activities as per standard guidelines.
• SparesManagement: -Maintaining adequate inventory of spares and consumables towards Instrumentation asset.
• Hands on experience in Honeywell Fire alarm system
