TVS Motor Company seeks an exceptional leader to own the vehicle vision and technical direction for 3W and 4W platforms from the Centre of Competence. You will drive architecture, system integration, and platform roadmaps for ICE and EV, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective products across the lifecycle.
The role demands 20+ years in automotive product development with proven ownership of full vehicle programs, strong governance, and executive stakeholder management.
Provide end-to-end technical leadership for the complete portfolio of 3-Wheeler and 4-Wheeler Commercial Mobility vehicles from the Centre of Competence (CoC) perspective. Own the vehicle product vision, technical concept, architecture, target book and engineering delivery across the full lifecycle, from customer and market requirement translation through concept, design, integration, validation, industrialisation, launch and field improvement. Act as the single vehicle-level technical authority to integrate Body, Chassis, Powertrain / EV Systems, Electrical & Electronics, Embedded Software, Thermal, CAE, Testing, Homologation, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchase, Service and Aftersales. Ensure delivery of safe, reliable, durable, compliant and commercially competitive products within Quality, Cost, Delivery, Performance and Weight targets, while building scalable platforms, common architectures and future-ready engineering capability for CMB.
1) Define and own the vehicle vision, customer value proposition, and technical direction for all 3W and 4W platforms.
2) Lead vehicle architecture, platform strategy, package integration, and technology roadmaps across ICE, EV, and future mobility solutions.
3) Drive end-to-end system integration across all Engineering CoCs, ensuring alignment of vehicle-level objectives and interfaces.
4) Establish and govern vehicle targets covering performance, efficiency, quality, safety, reliability, weight, cost, and customer experience.
5) Lead technical reviews, gateway approvals, configuration management, and engineering change control throughout the product lifecycle.
6) Ensure compliance with regulatory, homologation, functional safety, cybersecurity, and environmental requirements.
7) Approve vehicle verification, validation, sign-off, and launch readiness plans to ensure robust product delivery.
8) Drive value engineering, cost optimization, localization, and manufacturability in partnership with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
9) Monitor field performance, warranty trends, and customer feedback, driving continuous product and platform improvements.
10) Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams, develop technical capabilities, and drive succession planning.
11) Manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, and capability investments to support business growth.
12) Act as the primary technical authority for CMB vehicle programs, advising senior leadership on product strategy, risks, and key decisions. 13) Manage, Achieve and Report all milestone deliverables of NPD towards achieving right design maturity at each NPD process gates 14) Work with all cross functioal teams across organization to achieve desired reults.
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline. M.E. / M.Tech in Automotive, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical or a related field is preferred. Management or program leadership qualification is an advantage.
20+ years of automotive product development experience, including substantial vehicle-level leadership for 3W, 4W, commercial vehicle, passenger vehicle or adjacent mobility platforms. Demonstrated ownership of at least one complete vehicle program from concept to launch and field stabilisation; experience across EV and/or ICE architectures, multi-CoC integration, validation and industrialization is preferred.
