Capgemini in Hyderabad seeks a Software Test Automation Engineer with 4+ years of hands‑on experience to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for functional, regression, and API testing.

You will write and optimize automation scripts in Java/JavaScript/Python, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams across time zones to ensure strong test coverage.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Software Test Automation Engineering or Quality Engineering.
• Hands-on experience building and executing test automation frameworks.
• Strong proficiency with automation scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, PowerShell, or similar.
• Experience automating tests for web applications, APIs, and backend services.
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks for functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing
• Write, enhance, and optimize automation scripts using multiple languages and automation tools to support IT operations, DevOps pipelines, and application testing
• Work with BOT and automation tools/products to support operational testing and infrastructure automation validation
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster feedback cycles
• Actively contribute to in-sprint automation, partnering with developers and product owners to ensure test coverage aligns with user stories and acceptance criteria
• Create, prepare, and execute system-level and end-to-end quality assurance reviews
• Develop and execute automated and manual test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts
• Perform analysis, testing, certification, and automation of software releases
• Execute regression, smoke, and sanity test suites with a strong focus on automation
• Perform test data preparation and conditioning, including validation of test environments
• Review user requirements and technical designs to ensure they are testable and automation-ready
• Validate user expectations through automated and manual testing and lead QA sign-off activities
• Conduct root cause analysis for defects, identify automation gaps, and provide actionable quality metrics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test cases, automation strategy, and execution approach
• Share testing insights, automation results, and quality risks with stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Software Test Automation Engineering or Quality Engineering
• Hands-on experience building and executing test automation frameworks
• Strong proficiency with automation scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, PowerShell, or similar
• Experience automating tests for web applications, APIs, and backend services
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in Fraud and Claims Operations
• Experience with ACH and/or Debit Card claims processing
• Experience with one or more of the BPM applications preferably PEGA

• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent
• Experience with API automation tools such as REST Assured, Postman, Karate, or similar
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Strong experience taking initiative and working independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with Agile tracking and test management tools such as Jira and ALM
• Technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional, and virtual team environments across multiple time zones
